we never find out (or not that Im aware of) what happens to Kreacher after the Battle in DH. unless I am missing something.
Did he die?
Did he go on to work at Hogwarts till he died?
Did Harry take him home with him?
Did Harry have him go and work for the Weasleys?
Did he go back to Grimwald PLace alone?

I mean I know that he actually started to like Harry and Ron and Hermoine in DH but after the battle was done and over with what happend to him?

Im sorry if this question has already been breached and answered. please if it has send me in the right direction.

Personally I like to think he stayed at Hogwarts and was one of those grumpy people working there that made all new house-elves into mini-me's. But I think he was happy.

I also like the museum idea, but somehow I don't see Kreacher enjoying that, he's not much of a people person biggrin.gif

Harry's comment at the very end, wondering whether Kreacher could bring him a sandwich, made me think that Harry had accepted Kreacher as his house elf. I just assumed that Kreacher would go wherever Harry went and be his faithful servant. Kreacher would have expected this and would have died if Harry had set him free.

But that could be part of the experience and attraction, having Kreacher grumble under his breath while conducting the tour "Oh my poor Mistress if only she could seen the scum touring her house and they brought their brats too, oh the shame" rolleyes.gif

I think Kreacher would want to continue serving Harry, so that was what happened. I would imagine that Harry based himself at 12 Grimmauld Place in the immediate aftermath of DH, probably with others who were drafted into the auror department like Ron. I would think that Harry had got used to the place during his month there, and with the reformed Kreacher it would be a better place - still with its negative aspects but nothing Harry couldn't cope with, particularly as I imagine Harry was very busy to start with in his knew job, and spent a lot of his free time elsewhere.
Probably Harry would set up home elsewhere in due course, but I think he would hang on to 12GP, and either keep it as a London home, or find some other use for it.

I don't think Harry would stay in Grimmauld Place for ever, but I think he stayed there for while after the Battle. Being Kreacher's master, I think he would have taken him wherever he went (Keacher would have seen taking care of him as his duty, and thus being refused this as a disgrace).

He is Harry's majordomo, managing the staff at Harry's town house (12 Grimmauld) as well as his country house (either by the Weasleys in Ottery St Catchpole or near Bill and Fleur at Shell Cottage). He's not doing it out of enslavement, he's doing it out of genuine fondness for Harry. I suspect he's recruited a staff for Ron and Hermione as well (with proper wages, medical care, and vacation ;) )

I like your theory JohannMdlAmerica! biggrin.gif Because it is a happy ending to Kreacher's lonely life after Regulus died. Yes, he still worked for Mr & Mrs Black, but I don't think they treated him as well as Regulus.

I would have to say that he stayed with Harry like everyone else has done. I mean if he did not like Harry or come to have some sort of feelings be it like or just content; he never would have chose to side with the other House Elves. Many people who fought for the Death Eaters where directly part of the Black family. Kreacher, if still bonded to the Black family, would have went against Harry. That is just my say so. tongue.gif

I think Kreacher stayed with Harry until he died. I hope and believe that Harry offered him a chance to be a free elf, but stay in his employ for life. However, I believe Kreacher would have refused such an offer.

On a personal note, I wish Harry had thanked Kreacher in the end instead of asking for a sandwich.
