While Harry never had the choice to become the Chosen One in the first place - that decision was Voldemort's - he had the choice of acting as though he wasn't. But he didn't, because he knew that Voldemort would never let him in peace if he did. And in the end he didn't go into the forest to fulfill the prophecy but because he wanted to finish Voldemort in the certainty of death - because of everything Voldemort and his Death Eaters had done to destroy families and would do again if they stayed on top. That he let Neville in on the secret of the snake was good though (even though he lied to him about handing himself over) as it made sure that in the case of his death there would still be three people in the know - and probably also to give Neville a bit of revenge. (Unless Voldemort had made seven Horcruxes the snake wouldn't have been one though - Tom Riddle's Diary, Slytherin's Locket, Hufflepuff's Cup, Marvolo's Ring, Ravenclaw's Diadem and Harry made six.)

i was torn between harry and snape. snape was really brave in spying for dumbledore knowing how extremely dangerous it is. however, he could've watched over himself being an experienced wizard that he is. harry, meanwhile, is just a teenager faced with an enormous task of killing the darkest wizard of all time. and he's not as experienced and talented as snape. i agree with what harry said in the order of phoenix, half the time he was just really lucky being able to escape death or voldermort. so he get's my vote in being the biggest hero.

i agree with what dumbledore said, that he has the choice NOT to be the chosen one but in the end really, it's his will to kill voldermort that will force him to do what was in the prophecy. voldermort will never stop hunting him if he chose NOT to act as the chosen one. dumbledore explained it better in the Order of the Phoenix.

Harry did not have a choice about being the Chosen One or not as Voldemort was the one who chose the chosen one. The prophecy did not name Harry, it named someone born at the end of July, and the other choice was Neville. Voldemort could've easily have chosen Neville thus why his parents were cursed by the Death Eaters.

Also, if Harry was accidentally made into a horcrux (somehow) then he would've had to have been part of the action in some way. And without his blood being in Voldemort, he wouldn't have come back.

I chose Snape as heroic for all the sacrifices he made for Harry and the Wizarding World although he did not appear heroic until the final book.

This is really very simple. Voldemort chose Harry over Neville making Harry the chosen one without any influence from Harry himself. But Harry did have a choice to act on this fact. So the question should really be "Did Harry have a choice to face Voldemort?" to that answer I can answer yes, although Voldemort DID kill Harry's parents so there really was no doubt on the whole Harry killing Voldemort thing.

In the end Im very pleased that Harry killed Voldemort coz he was really pissing me off! biggrin.gif
