Hello. smile.gif

Didn't see one around, so I thought I'd start a topic on the iconic landmarks we've seen through out the Harry Potter movies, etc. Or maybe you've been to Nicholson's Cafe (now turned into a Chinese Resturant) where JKR herself wrote most of the manuscript for Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone?

Last year in the summer my family and I went away to Scotland for a week and it was such a wonderful experience. biggrin.gif I'd definately love to travel up there again! I managed to go see Edinburgh Castle whilst in Edinburgh itself when the festival up there was taking place. Loved it. ^__^ It's so beautiful. I've also been lucky to visit Alnwick Castle! I spotted Harry, Hagrid and Dumbledore talking to all the little children which was quite funny. tongue.gif Felt dead lucky to be there. The place is just really lovely!

Me: I love Snape. I think he's quite hot.
Friend: Eh?!

Location: Trying to find Platform 9 3/4 in Grand Central Station

When I visited London this past winter, I went to Platform 9 3/4, and can basically die happy now. It was soooooooo cool. And whenever I see the HBP trailers, and they show the outside of Parliament and the MIllennium Bridge, I always tell everyone within earshot that I've been there, haha. (And the scene in DH where the trio escape from the wedding was filmed in Picadilly Circus, wasn't it? Cause I was there too.) I kept an eye out for the Leaky Cauldron, but alas, I guess I didn't look hard enough. However, my friends and I did come across a twisty turny narrow street that looked like it could have been Diagon Alley! (Or Knocturn Alley, cause it was kind of dark and creepy at night.)

And I know this doesn't exactly count, but because I'm a New Yorker I pretty often pass by or at least am in the area of the Ziegfield Theater and Radio City Music Hall, where most of the HP movie premiers have been.

There are some things you can't share without ending up liking each other, and knocking out a twelve-foot mountain troll is one of them.
