In 2003 Comic Relief, a charity based in England committed to helping end poverty and social injustice in the UK and the world's poorest countries, presented this Harry Potter spoof as part of their “Red Nose Day” fundraising telethon -- HARRY POTTER AND THE SECRET CHAMBERPOT OF AZERBAIJAN.

This 17 minute video is undoubtedly the best of them all, featuring such amazing actors as Jeremy Irons playing Snape and Miranda Richardson as Hermione. Dawn French (the Fat Lady in PoA) plays Harry, under the premise that the actor has grown too much (and in unexpected ways) between the first and second films. French’s comedy duo partner Jennifer Saunders pulls a double role as both Harry’s very nervous sidekick, Ron, plus a priceless turn as author JK Rowling. lol.gif

My favourite quote from the video:
QUOTE
McGonagall: Am I Slytherin?
Snape: No dear, I can understand every word you're saying.

This is not to be missed!

Watch it in our amazing TLC Video Gallery here. Warning--may cause uncontrolled fits of laughter and rolling on the floor! excited.gif

This is so funny.

They cast some really awesome actors and actresses to do it as well, Miranda Richardson plays Hermione, (before she played Skeeter), and Jeremy Irons is the funniest Snape. I died when he starts going on about the "natural swing" in his hair lol.gif .

Just brilliant!

im not a huge fan of HP parodies (i just dont like when people make fun of my favourite books tongue.gif ) but this video is hilarious!

Dobby played by a fox! lol.gif And Jeremy Irons is definately the best thing that could have happened to Snape's character - not counting Alan Rickman, of course lol.gif

Oh my, Jeremy Irons is hilarious in this! The funniest part had to be Malfoy and Harry at the end though! lolabove.gif Malfoy riding his broomstick like it's a car, smoking a cigarette with Harry behind him honking!

Dobby played by a fox! lol.gif

lol.gif That fox is Basil Brush, an iconic puppet from children's television, (yep, I am that old!!).

Some of the other cast are:

Dawn French - Harry Potter
Jennifer Saunders - Ron
Miranda Richardson - Hermione
Ronnie Corbett - Hagrid (possibly the smallest comedian ever lol.gif )
Nigel Planer - Dumbledore (I had to look this one up because I couldn't figure out who it was, it was a very good impression of Richard Harris though)
Jeremy Irons - Snape
Alison Steadman - Professor McGonagall (this one kills me lol.gif )

Apparently Nigel Planer was allowed to wear the actual wig Richard Harris wore!

Thank you so much for posting the link Hagiographer13.

I love French & Saunders and in fact all of them were priceless and very well chosen.

Very entertaining. Can someone please explain the significance of the Fox Basil Brush? I know you say he's an iconic puppet, but is there a reason why they chose that character puppet to represent Dobby?

Probably for the same reason they chose a woman to play Harry, because it's daft lol.gif !!

I have to say my favourite part of the video is Alison Steadman - Professor McGonagall (who you may remember as Mrs. Bennett on the BBC Pride and Prejudice).
Her comments about the adult actors only having 2 lines and reaction shots really nearly killed me! She is such an extraordinary talent and does a spookily close Professor McGonagall. I also loved the screaming Ron... classic!
