I should rephrase. Dumbledore was aware of the connection as far back as COS but did not think it was harmful until Voldemort became aware of it.

And I agree with your post. Harry did not shut his friends out. They, under Dumbledore's orders, shut him out when he most needed them. They were very contrite about it, and I think understood why Harry was angry. I do wonder if the Advanced guard was something that the Order decided to do and Dumbledore agreed after the Dementor to keep Sirius from going to get Harry himself?

It occurs to me that Dumbledore's accusation of Sirius's recklessness came at such a moment--Sirius might have wanted to bring Harry in the first day he moved in and Dumbledore made the secret keeper charm on 12 Grimmuald Place.
