Can you remember a time in the series when Harry asked to get some credit for his accomplishments other than in ootp when he shouted at Ron and Hermione about it being he who was in the tri-wizard tournament and he who fought demetors etc. And looking back do you believe that this modesty was as crucial as some of his other attributes in the quest to defeat lv?

Harry as a person is not vain. Vanity is not a virtue. Harry always knew that he had lots of support in his tasks. He did not want credit that belonged to someone else. When he was angry that one time, he was at his wits end. Even after the final battle, he wanted only peace and quiet. He had just saved the Wizard World, but he was pleased for Neville's victory too and very sad over the loss of so many good friends. He needs to process all that has happened in the last two days.
