Twillfit & Tatting's Chief Tatter Posts: 2,083 Joined: 1:52am May 30, 2006 Location: Seeking the Golden Snitch	The world of FanArt can be a funny place. Tucked in between incredible images of beauty, romance, and poignant sadness, there can be found hysterically funny pieces of art that show their creators' sly senses of humor and fun. The diversity of these pieces is amazing. Some take an element of canon and go one step further, like this piece by Lady_Voldything. Found here in our gallery. It makes me giggle every time! Then there are those who comment on the current debate happening in the fandom, like this one by artdungeon. I remember laughing out loud when I first saw it! I really love the ones that have a clever play on words, like this one by Flayrah. Hands up who first thought of something like this when they read the term "disillusion"! I love Snape's nose, and bitty Voldie! Also Makani has some fantastic humorous art, often poking fun at the Malfoys. I'll have to go find some of my favorites and post them! Everything about this one is incredibly funny, but several things get me the most. The way Snape phrases "AK'ed Harry Potter" in his story just gets me giggling uncontrollably. Nagini curled in her little basket just kills me, and the barely visible blissful smile on Voldemort's face absolutely makes this picture. It is this type humour, rather than the topical comedy more commonly found in contemporary writing, that assures the Potter series a place in literary history. The FanArtist community in large part has embraced this timeless comedy and imbued much of their work with it. Here are two of my favourite funny fan arts, by a couple of our former Featured Fanartists -- Caladan with her take on Remus and Tonks' home life -- Here in the FA Gallery The fabulous Mlle. Melding Monty Python with Harry Potter gets my vote. Love this: the new ministry of magic The Disillusion one by Flayra is a cracking play on words. When I saw this one I couldn't stop laughing.

Stocking Snitches at Quality Quidditch Supplies Posts: 674 Joined: 6:25am December 9, 2007 Location: Canada	As a person who cannot draw a straight line with a ruler, I am in absolute awe of every piece of fanart on all the fanart threads. I admire each and every artist immensely. Having said that, I do write. And, if MightyNatsuko is reading this, I want you to know that your work totally cracks me up. Not in a laugh-out-loud way, but in a "How clever!" way. The descriptions/picture tags of your four album single-frame cartoons and the writing within the frames are - in light of what we have read in DH -, both intelligent and witty. (Harry being so desperate for Horcrux clues without DD around to guide him that he offers to sell his autograph in exchange: Xeno Lovegood not recognizing a Erumpet horn with an unmissible "Highly Explosive" tag on it; Draco voluntarily handing Harry his (Malfoy's) wand, saying "You dropped this." - Hee, hee) It takes a particular weird(?) sense of humour to really "get" your work; to see that it is not only funny but, as I said, the sharp wit and cleverness of it. Don't know if MightyNatsuko would consider this a compliment (heh, heh), but obviously we share that sense. As with the best kind of humour, your cartoons are not something that can be explained. Either the viewer/reader gets it or she doesn't. I always appreciate when people let me know that they like my work, and I try to do the same for others - especially for those in the creator industries. So I felt I had to take the time to post this. I very much look forward to seeing more of MightyNatsuko's HP fanart in the future.
