Get ready...get set…Start solving!
Tuesday, July 1st at 3 pm EDT or 8 pm BST the first riddle will be posted on the Contest Corner! This will begin Part Two of the Riddles Contest! As a refresher, please read the complete rules here, there will be 10 riddles posted throughout the month of July at different times every Tuesday and Friday. To answer a riddle, you must e-mail your answer before the next riddle is posted. Because of the changing times to accommodate those in different time zones, we have posted the approximate times the riddles will be posted at the end of the complete rules here. To be eligible for a drawing of one of three Wizard Wood Wands, you must answer correctly a complete set of riddles. Those with all the answers correct will have their names placed into a drawing for one of the wands, along with those whose riddles we used for this part. If you submit an answer after the next riddle has been posted (schedule available here), your answer will not be counted. Please keep sending in answers if you miss a deadline, though. If no one has 10 correct answers, the next highest number correct will be used as the baseline to determine what number you must have correct to be placed into the drawing. Please read the complete rules carefully for Part Two before you submit your answers. There have been a few minor changes that were stated in the rules and a few housekeeping things that need to be said.

Okay, so I'm a bit confused here.. Is the contest to answer people's riddles.. or is it to make the riddle's up? Also, will the riddle's be posted as a new topic in the Contest Corner? Thanks!

The first part of the contest was to submit your own riddles. The current part of the contest, which is the second part, is to answer those riddles. So yeah, this time, you have to answer them. I would imagine that each riddle will have its own thread in the Contest Corner forum.

As stated, this part is to answer the riddles (thanks {{voldy}}!).
There will be one thread for all 10 riddles in the Contest Corner forum. That way you're not running down the most current thread. Please remember to email your answer and include a name for tracking! This post has been edited by mjk: Jul 1 2008, 02:18 PM -------------------- |

To the Contest Crew:
I think there is an error in all of your listed times for the riddle-deadlines, which I wanted to bring to your attention. Technically, GMT stands for Greenwich Mean Time, which is what the people in the UK use when they're NOT on British Summer Time (BST; what we in the US call Daylight Saving Time). When they're on BST (like now), their clocks read 1 hour later than GMT. I assume that the UK times that you listed were meant to be what people in the UK's clocks will read when each riddle is posted. In that case, I think you need to replace every "GMT" with "BST" and then everything will be correct. (ETA: This correction has now been made by the Awesome Contest People I'm looking forward to trying to solve the riddles. Thanks for the contest! (edited to remove the quoted, erroneous list of times, since the list has now been corrected in the original thread) This post has been edited by Bandersnatch: Jul 1 2008, 03:55 PM -------------------- Exit Bandersnatch, pursued by a bear.

Bandersnatch, thank you for that clarification!
It has been changed (or will be in a minute!). -------------------- |

You're welcome. Should I edit my previous post now that you've made the change? So that the old list of times isn't there?

This might be a stupid question, but I'm not sure of the answer....Are the riddles related to Harry Potter, or are they broad and just general?

This might be a stupid question, but I'm not sure of the answer....Are the riddles related to Harry Potter, or are they broad and just general? Good question. That would only be answered if you read through ALL of the rules. All of the riddles have answers that are related to the Harry Potter books 1-7. They can be people, places, or things. -------------------- |

Of course I see now that I sent my first answer to the wrong place, and I missed the second riddle by three days.
