August was a great month for news in the FanArt Gallery!
 Most noteworthy, of course, is that the Gallery is finally open again for new submissions, at least from members who previously had albums in the gallery. There have been new members able to join, but it is inconsistant, and still being sorted out. FanArtists are reminded they need to upload new .jpg avatars to their profiles in the Gallery, as the original ones have gone missing. The flood of new FanArt (including 307 since the Gallery was reopened) has brought a treasure-trove of some 3353 images uploaded by 490 FanArtists. To see all the newest art, just click the "recently added" link on the left side of the Gallery main page.  The new Featured FanArtist is the amazing Sanna L. She has some outstanding works, so be sure and check them out!  There also is an exciting new discussion thread all about the new Deathly Hallows FanArt. This corresponds to the new poll on the Main Page of the FanArt Gallery--what DH art do you want to see? In light of the revelations about Severus Snape in the final book, the FanArt for this complex character has shifted in nature, and you can see and talk about this turn of events in this thread here in the FA Gallery forum. Members are also taking the DH FanArt to heart and producing a ton of cool new FanArt avatars--just remember to credit the FanArtist and link to their TLC FA album or artsite. In addition to the new art in the Gallery, there are also posts in the Constructive Feedback thread to discuss artists' works in progress. Exciting announcement for FanArtists!!!!!
TLC is having a Deathly Hallows FanArt competition! There will be two categories of submissions -- QUOTE 1. Hand-Drawn - submissions must be drawings or paintings. 2. Computer-Generated or Digital Art - submissions must be drawing or painting-based. Please note than ANY computer manipulation of the hand-drawn art (other than resizing) will bump it to the digital categorey. For full details, see this thread in the Contest Corner. Deadline for submissions is 11:59pm EDT, September 30th. Good luck!

Hey All! I just wanted to remind all the Fan Artists about this month's contest being put on by the Contest Staff. This month they are looking for original artwork based upon Deathly Hallows, something I know that all of you are capable of! This contest is open until 11:59 p.m. EST September 30, 2007 To learn more about this contest, such as the rules, please feel free to go visit the Contest Forum. I hope to see a ton of great entries!
By the way don't worry if you don't have a Fan Art Galleries account! While the rules state you must submit your art by e-mail, and in the Fan Art Galleries, they have edited them a bit for those of you without accounts. The rules have been edited a bit to add QUOTE For the time being, please continue to submit your entries to the contest e-mail address (contests@the-leaky-cauldron.org). No one will be penalized for not submitting their entry to the FA Gallery.

Well I have good news for all of you who wanted to enter the September Fan Art challenge, but haven't had the time yet, the deadline for submissions has changed! The deadline for the contest has been extended to Sunday, October 14th by 11:59pm (EST).
You still will not be penalized if you were not able to add your artwork to the galleries. We're hoping this will be fixed before the new deadline is over, though. Please still e-mail your submissions to contests@the-leaky-cauldron.org If you have any questions or concerns about this contest, please do not hesitate to PM any of the contest staff or post in the Contest Forum. October FanArt Gallery news update!!! It's back-to-Hogwarts and more wonderful HP FanArt for revision!
Our new Featured FanArtist is the multi-talented Sherant! Her art is to die for and for a bit of a helping-hand she make fantastic tutorials, too! Much has been happening in the TLC FanArt Gallery this past month! With some 4000 images uploaded by nearly 500 artists there is literally something there for everyone!
The poll on "Which character do you like to see/draw as Fanart" continues, with discussion here elsewhere in this forum. Currently it is a near-tie between Harry and Ginny.  Our Featured FanArtist is the incredible Slytherinfiend! Check out her amazing artwork and tell us what you think about it! The winners of the TLC Deathly Hallows FanArt Contest can be found in the discussion thread for DH art. They are truly wonderful! Some of the recently added FanArt includes --

FanArt Gallery updates for November/December! The Gallery artists uploaded over 300 new images in the month of November!
We bid adieu to our last FanArt Gallery poll, and the final results were -- QUOTE Which character do you like to see/draw in FanArt? Harry (1305 votes) 23.6% Ron (512 votes) 9.2% Hermione (809 votes) 14.5% Ginny (1142 votes) 20.5% Dumbledore (316 votes) 5.6% Bellatrix (521 votes) 9.4% Voldemort (305 votes) 5.5% Other, see my post in the lounge (649 votes) 11.7% (5559 total votes) Obvously Harry is the clear favourite but Ginny certainly gave him a run for the money! The new Gallery poll is "Black and white, colour, tinted or mixed: Which type of HP fan art do you prefer to make/see?" There is a matching Forum poll and discussion thread for this question, here in this Forum. Our newest Featured FanArtist is none-other than perenniel fan-favourite, LeelaStarsky. This amazing Aussie has the most number of image views of any artist in the Gallery, and her work is simply marvelous! You can see more of her work, and discuss how it affects you in this thread. Also added to the Gallery are the winners of TLC's Deathly Hallows FanArt contest. They are absolutely fabulous, and you can see and discuss them in our Forum Deathly Hallows FanArt thread. Here in the FA Forum, Humour in FanArt continues to Leave fans rolling off their chairs with mirth and laughter. What better way to bring a little sunshine into a gloomy winter's day?
