What is the role of men in this story? We have Mr Woodhouse who is exessively worried about his health and everyone else's. What did you think about his worries?
Mr Elton, once rejected by Emma, hurries off and quickly finds another bride. What did you think of his haste in finding someone to replace Emma? What did you think of his treatment of Harriet? Mr Knightly says that he "love[s] an open temper". Did you think then that he had feelings for Emma? He's seen as a very sensible and understanding character and yet he disliked Frank even before meeting him. Is this reasonable? Is this what you expected of Mr Knightly? What contribution did the other men in the story make? Who did you like? Who did you dislike? -------------------- ![]() November's book is The Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger "THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE DIED!" roared Black. "DIED RATHER THAN BETRAY YOUR FRIENDS, AS WE WOULD HAVE DONE FOR YOU!" |
