You asked for it, you got it!

Here is a loverly thread where you can post your informal get together meetings and ideas. Want to sit and discuss Snape over a cocktail? Post your meeting here. Want to get a group together to go and visit Harvard Square? Post your meeting here. You'll want to let people know the general info; where you'll be meeting, what time, the topic or reason for getting together.

NOTE: Leakycon is not responsible for these informal meet-ups. If you decide to participate, it is at your own risk. Be careful about agreeing to meet with people you may have never met, and be sure to get your chaperone's approval if you are under 18. In other words, people, BE CAREFUL. Please.

PLEASE do not post phone numbers or emails in your post. Communication, RSVPs, etc., can be done via PM (and if you want that info in a PM, that's up to you. Just don't post it publically, please)

We'll also have, at the conference itself, a bulletin board where these informal meetings can be posted. It will be near the information desk.

Go forth and meet!

Hey LeakyCon-goers! I'm Dinah Saur from the Wizrocklopedia. You may be aware of the Wizard Rock People's Choice Awards that we've been running the past few weeks (http://wizrocklopedia.com/2009/05/05/final-wrpca-voting/). Now, Freya and I have a plan for announcing them live at LeakyCon, however we are still in need of a location. Our intention is to announce them following the Evil Night Wrock show Thursday night, but won't be able to use that room, as it is not an official part of programming.

Here's our question: Is there anyone with a suite or otherwise larger sized room available that we can cram people and Wizard Rockers into in order to make the announcements? We don't predict it taking longer than 20 minutes and we will be eternally grateful to you and your suitemates!

If you have a suite/room we can use or know of someone we could contact, that would be amazing. Please email me at: WrockDinahSaur@gmail.com

Thanks again!

Sounds awesome. Perhaps you could plan to do it in the common room? I'm pretty sure that wouldn't be a problem. Is everyone able to come to this? I'm one of the wrockers nominated for a category, though I'm not performing at LeakyCon or anything.

We would, but this will be happening around midnight following the Evil Night performance and the Common Room will be closed (as I understand it). However, if it IS open, we would absolutely be happy to do the announcements in there!

Ah, you're right, I just read somewhere that the common room closes at 5 pm. That's a shame, it would've worked well! Anyway, I hope you get a place to use smile.gif

I am unable to attend LeakyCon because my sister has the audacity to graduate from college the same weekend... but I'm going to be visiting Boston that following week, Tues-Thurs. I'm planning on moving out there early next year and would love to meet some Potterheads. Are there any post-LeakyCon stragglers and/or Boston locals who might be interested in an informal meetup one of those evenings?

I'm planning on having a Quest meet and greet at the conference.

Tentatively scheduled for Thursday at 2pm, place to be determined.

Just a chance for Questers to meet each other before the conference officially starts, and if anyone has books they want signed, they can bring them as well (I will sign books whenever someone puts one in front of me, to be honest! lol)

Notice: This is subject to change, based on what happens with my duties during the conference. wink.gif

Oh, goody, I'll be there with bells on (so glad I changed my flight) and books in-hand...

Is anyone interested in an informal get-together for attendees that are age 30 and up? Nothing against the younger lot at all, but I'd love to meet other fans my age! smile.gif

Me too me too me too! (Sorry. I'm not mature. Just old. biggrin.gif ) I should have responded sooner; I'm still in catch-up mode on the forums.
I'm hoping to attend QuestAuthor's meet&greet at 2pm as well -- can we schedule around that? Thanks, dumblydorr729!
Sorry 'bout the double-post... need to figure out how to do multiple quotes...

I'm up for the 30+ thing! Is there an idea/plan for when and/or where?
I'm vending, so... after vending hours would be sweet for me:)
