Hello, I am new to both this site and computers so forgive me if i'm sounding off on the wrong topic board. The book I will be discussing is non H.P., but if anyone has read this particular book before, it is sort of related to J. k. Rowlings writing. I have mentioned this in Harry Potter off topic chatter but I didn't get much feedback. Maybe it's only interesting to me.
If you have read The Mayor of Casterbridge by Thomas Hardy you may have noticed a few similarities between the town of Casterbridge and Hogsmeade. Here are just a few similarities. Hogsmeade has two pubs, The Three Broomsticks and the Hogs Head. Casterbridge has three pubs, the Three Mariners and Peters Finger are mentioned the most. Also, like the Leakey Cauldron, they have rooms upstairs. In chapter twenty of Mayor of Casterbridge, about three paragraphs down and only a few lines apart, are the words dumbledores and hagrid. If anyone else has read this book or any others with similarities to the Harry Potter books post back. I am very interested to hear other peoples thoughts or comments. |
