In a nutshell:

Voldemort is not going to die. Voldemort is going to suffer a fate worse than death. Dumbledore has pointed out on many occasions that there are fates worse than death. I think Voldemort is going to have his soul sucked out in a Dementor's kiss, suffer permanent brain damage of some kind. IF Voldemort does die, he'll definitely become a ghost but I honestly think he isn't going to die.
I believe that Voldemort probably will die in the series, but you certainly have a point about becoming a ghost. If what Nearly Headless Nick says about fear of going on being one reason that wizards become ghosts, then there is good reason to suspect that LV would take on that half life, neither here nor there. He fears death more than anything else. Yet to spend the rest of eternity being laughed at as essentially powerless would, for him, be horrible.

I really don't expect things to turn out in this fashion, but in a sense, it would be fitting.

I had not fully considered the idea of LV considering Hogwarts home, which is, of course, another thing he holds in common with Harry. Both were orphaned as babies and raised in unloving and hard homes (although LV's orphanage was possibly a better home than the Dursleys). The atmosphere of Hogwarts and the knowledge that they are each "different" and "special" and that this is the place and world they belong in makes Hogwarts their first real home. Naturally, they would each wish to return there and of course, when in need of strength or protection their homeground is where they return. I just didn't see it till this essay!

Their different reactions to learning what they are and their reasons for feeling at ease in Hogwarts are different and reflect the ultimate difference in their charecter that is so well discussed in this essay. LV/Tom's reaction that he always knew he was special vs Harry's surprise and humble disbelief.

Harry loves Hogwarts. He is generally treated well there, he made friends there, found all the people who form a sort of loving adopted family there (Sirius, the Weasleys, Hermione, Lupin and most important Dumbledore) and it will become a place to learn how to protect those he loves. At Hogwarts LV found people worthy to be his followers, people to lead in terrorizing others, adults to control and manipulate knowledge from, and ultimately a place to gain knowledge to be used as power over those around him.

"I know what day it is," Dudley repeated, coming right up to him.

"Well done," said Harry,"So you've finally learned the days of the week."

[font=Times New Roman] I think that the only way Voltemort will die is if Harry finds and destroys all the Horoexes (sorry for the horrible spelling), which seems kind of a difficult for him to do in one book. So maybe Voltemort will. But it seems very unlikly sense he's one of the most powerfull wizard, he's bond to have something up his slimy sleeve.

[font=Comic Sans Ms] Personaly, i think that LV has to die. Every one knows that there is no way that Harry will die, and as stated in OOTP, Harry or LV must die bc of the prophecy. It isnt a fact, but thats the only way that LV will let it happen. So i think that Harry will find the Horcuxes and LV will die.

I also agree with wordsaremagic, if LV does die, he will be back as a ghost.
