Well, new children's book awards announced. And the big winner is newcomer Julia Golding, whose book Diamond of Drury Lane took the top prize.

The novel, set in 1790 London, follows the adventures of Cat Royal, an orphan girl and ward of the Theatre Royal, "who hears about a diamond hidden in the theatre and goes in search of it."
