The discussion for Return of the King has been fun, we really appreciate everyone's participation and we hope you've enjoyed the discussions. This book club is scheduled to go through to 5 September, when we will close the discussion and open up a new one for Michael Scott's series The Secrets of Nicholas Flamel.
So this thread is to ask for suggestions for the book we'll read in October and we're returning to JKR's list of recommended books. We will leave the thread open to suggestions for a few days, when we have enough, we'll close it and open a poll to vote. Please nominate from the following list of books The Little White Horse Elizabeth Goudge recommended here & Skellig David Almond recommended here. (this will be a two-book discussion) Persuasion, Jane Austen Northanger Abbey, Jane Austen Sense and Sensibility I Capture the Castle Dodie Smith recommended here. The Moonstone Wilkie Collins recommended here. Catch 22 Joseph Heller recommended here. Robinson Crusoe Daniel Defoe recommended here. Hamlet William Shakespeare recommended here. Animal Farm George Orwell recommended here. The Catcher in the Rye J.D. Salinger recommended here. Clockwork Philip Pullman recommended here. Ballet Shoes Noel Streatfield recommended here. Please limit your suggestions to the list above, we'll have some further member suggestions in later months. -------------------- ![]() March's Book Nook: The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge/Skellig by David Almond "THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE DIED!" roared Black. Definitely Hamlet. I've read some of the others, and they are good, but there's nothing like good old Shakespeare to get the blood chilled near Halloween.

Catch 22 by Joseph Heller. It's one of my favorite books of all time.

We now have six book nominations so we're going to close this thread and open up a poll to start voting.
