Got a problem downloading PotterCast?
Can't find an episode on PotterCast.com?
Computer doesn't like you?

OK we really can't help with that last one lol.gif But we'll try to help with your other PotterCast related problems/questions. Post any support-related issues and we'll see if other members or our tekkies can help you out smile.gif

One common question involves downloading past episodes. To download the PC episodes which are not on the iTunes feed, please visit Past Episodes section on PotterCast.com. Find the appropriate episode, and then right click on "direct download", selecting "Save Link As". If you find an episode which is not working please feel free to e-mail me (KimmyBlair) at "kimmy@the-leaky-cauldron.org" with the appropriate episode number.

Have any other questions? Please feel free to post them up in this thread!

I don't have a link, but she was talking about a Teddy Lupin-centric fic by FernWithy.

Okay, I'm taking off my mod hat here to get some help! I have subscribed to Pottercast for several months through iTunes, but it seems to only show #88 and on as available. I know I can go to the PC site and listen to old episodes on my computer, but how do I get the old ones on iTunes, so I can put them on my ipod?

Thanks!

Hey Lorione --

If you right click on them and save them as mp3's, you can then import them into your iTunes.

ORRR, I think if you go on iTunes and do a search for "PotterCast", you might be able to find more? (I don't know, I haven't looked recently)

Hope that's helpful!

Hmmm...I guess I only thought I knew how to listen to the oldies but goodies on my computer. When I clicked on 'listen now' I only get the most recent episode. So, I can read the shownotes & transcript, but I can't for the life of my figure out how to download it. I'm going back pretty far. (I'm asking here instead of PM because I'm figuring someone else out there in Potterland may have the same question! At least I hope I'm not the only goober!)

I'm fairly sure you won't find the older episodes on iTunes, they tend to delete older ones from the feed so there is space for the new ones.

If you go to PotterCast.com and click on the 'Past Episodes' tab you will see the pages of old episodes, once you have found on of the ones you want, click on the title of the episode to bring up the show notes. At the bottom of the page is the 'Direct Download' button. Right click it and choose 'Save link as...' or 'Save target as...' (depending on what browser your using). Follow the steps through from there.

Once you have finished downloading the episode you need to go into My Computer and find the folder where you saved the file. You then need to right click on the file and select 'Open with' and then pick 'iTunes'. Unfortunately I don't think there is a way to add the older episodes of PotterCast to the feed so they will appear as normal music. If you want all the PotterCast's in the same place the best thing to do would be to create a PotterCast play list.

Hope you can work it out from that! If you have any more problems feel free to PM me.

I remember Melissa mentioning a post-DH fanfic she was reading on a somewhat recent PotterCast but I can't remember which one. First of all, did she say the name of the fic and if so, what was it? If she did say what it was, does anyone have a link to it? I'm in desperate need of a good fanfic to read!

Leni

Hey MiracleMAXime - I was actually reading that story before Melissa mentioned it, and I am right there with her, it is a great post-DH fanfic! The story is on sugarquill.net, it is by FernWithy and titled "Teddy Lupin and the Forest Guard". They story is still being written, but what is up so far is excellent. Below is a link, enjoy!

By the look of things this 'rumour' turns out to be untrue. Welcome to the Pottercast fandom.

Okay, a couple of Pottercasts ago Melissa said she'd put up a zip folder of short clips of each of the songs off of Jingle Spells to help those of us who want to make an ad for it, but I can't find it! Should I expect it in 13.5 weeks? I ordered the CD through snail mail the other day, so I can't wait until I get my copy to make it. I desperately need something creative to do, so in the meantime I'm going to see if I can just download those clips one by one.
