Supplies
Brown worsted weight yarn
Yellow worsted weight yarn
Orange worsted weight yarn
Yellow worsted weight yarn
G/6 (4.00 mm) crochet hook
Yarn needle

Instructions
Base Rectangle
Chain 39 stitches.

Use one stitch as the original turning stitch, then single crochet 10 rows of 38 stitches.

Fasten off.

Semi-circles
Join with a sl st in the 8th stitch from the edge.

From this position, fanstitch 7 sc into the 9th stitch.

Once this is done, sc around the fan, being careful to anchor each row into the main rectangle, so that it makes a joined-up fabric.

It will take around 7 lines of sc until the end of the semi circle met up with the end of the base rectangle.

Repeat this step on the other side. It should leave a nose sized gap in the middle.

SC around the entire mask in a contrasting color to hold everything together and give it a nice edge.

Owl Eyes
The eyes are just a crocheted circle ending up with 42 stitches.

Then do one round in brown and the next in white with 6 picot stitches to create a ruffle.

The inside of the eye is just a loosely embroidered diamond.

Beak
The beak is made from ten sc, which are naturally reduced by not using a turning stitch. Then sc once around the triangle to give it a nice finish.

Finishing
Sew all of the pieces onto the mask using yarn in the appropriate colors and a yarn needle.

Please note that the patterns and tutorials you find here have been designed by Harry Potter fans all over the Internet. The authors alone hold the copyrights and licences to these patterns and tutorials, which means you CANNOT use their patterns to make something that you will sell to others afterwards. You can use them to make things for yourself. You can make some for your friends and ask them to pay for supplies. You CANNOT, however, ask them to pay you to do it as though you had created this pattern by yourself, or try to sell you crafts to a local store.

Think about it. Would you take a Prisoner of Azkaban book, photocopy it, put your name in big red letters on the front cover and try to sell it in your local library? The answer is, obviously, no. Well, selling crafts you have made but not designed would be just as bad!

Also note that the tutorials, recipes and patterns found here have not been tested and that The Leaky Cauldron's Harry Potter Crafts section is not responsible for any mistakes they may contain. If you do find something wrong in one of them, however, please e-mail us to let us know.

On that note, Harry crafting to all!
