Halloween draws near again and people are starting planning parties, making costumes and decorations. And what can be better as a HP-party, a cool costume allowing you to be your favourite character for one night and a house decorated as magnificently as the Great Hall? Or can it? wizard.gif

How do you usually celebrate Halloween? How much "Potter-taste" do you add to your celebrations? What's your favourite HP thing to do on Halloween night - dress up as a character, have a Potter-themed party, something else? Why? tonksemoxy3.gif

Which character are you going to dress up as? Why have you picked that particular one? hermione.gif

If you're planning on dressing up, maybe you've got some cool costume ideas that you'd like to share with others? If you're having trouble with your costume, feel free to ask for help here as well. thHagrid03emoticon.gif

I don't do the dress up thing for Halloween, and I couldn't talk any of my kids into using the Gryffindor robe and wand this year. *sniff* Rotten kids, after all I do for them, too! biggrin.gif

I think we will have a movie marathon, though, especially with Halloween on a weekend!

Oh, I just celebrate Halloween by drinking loads of my favourite Veritaserum-flavoured tea in perfectly pink surroundings thinking of what else I can do to disrupt the likes of Harry Potter. Dress up as him? No way! What is wrong with appearing as my usual self? And while I am down here, a few bets on the horses wouldn't be a bad idea either.

By the way, I saw a lovely green houndstooth double-breasted jacket Down South. I must have it! It would look so gorgeous with that heavy locket I organised from that Diagon Sneak-thief the other day!

This is so exciting, I had no idea it would be so much fun here. Happy halloween!
I love Halloween parties because they're usually fun and everyone just lets their hair down so to speak. You can dress up without feeling silly about it. I have to say that I'm more of a movie fan so I like to watch the Harry Potter movies around Halloween to get in the haunting mood. It's fun to dress up with friends and play silly games, eat a lot of candy and just have a great time. This year I'll try to dress as Kingsley Shacklebolt, I'll improvise things together to make my costume look as much like his as possible.

I love having HP movie marathons! I use so many excuses to have them - I think my kids are even starting to suggest them for various things.

    * We had one for the start of school one year.
    * We had one right before DEathly Hallows came out (it would have taken too long to read all of those books out loud)
    * We have one before each of the movies are released!
    * We have one arounf Halloween
    * Last winter we had one while we assembled the HP lego sets my oldest son was given for Christmas about four years ago - that was fun!
    * And then, they are just a fun way to break-up the mid-winter blues!
They are a great family friendly way to spend time together.

Sadly, I am the only Harry Potter fan in the house, willing to consider the costumes. I have been trying to talk my kids into dressing up as a HP character for 6 years now!

However, I might consider it if I decide to go to a Halloween Party - Hmmm..who do I choose? So many possibilities! If I could pull off Ginny, I would, but I am not sure if many people would "get it". Bellatrix would be fun!, but again, would people know who I am? Awe well *goes off to figure out her costume*

Peeves you're a total pain! Messing around and throwing stuff is fun but you've messed with my avatar sad.gif And everyone else's too by the looks of it. Sir Nicholas has some rotten food in his party, I think I'll get some and throw it at Peeves! Although that could start a food fight which might not be fun if it involves rotten old ghost food.

Rotten old ghost food is ALWAYS fun to throw around!

*picks up a worm pie and throws it to Teal'c face*

What? Who put back everyone's avatar?
Professor Dumbledore you say?
But he's not around! He's off...

*dissapears*
