A year ago we asked you who you think is the most powerful wizard. 12 months down the line, we're now asking you to choose one wizard from the top six (those with the most votes so far).
Of these six wizards, which do you think is the most powerful, and why? How do you define power? Magical ability, strength of character, numbers of supporters?

If you have not yet voted in the original Most Powerful Wizard poll, you can do so by clicking the link and telling us who you think is the most powerful wizard or witch of all time.

This poll however is to determine which of these six wizards is the most powerful. You can only vote for one. note.gif

Dumbledore, hands down. He was the most intelligent, powerful wizard of all time. The professor who examined him in his NEWTs said that he did things with a wand that she had never seen before. This is extremely high praise. I cannot imagine anyone else defeating Grindelwald when Grindelwald was using the Elder Wand. It is also impossible for me to picture anyone else who could have devised and executed a plan to do in Lord Voldemort. He brought down the two most powerful Dark Wizards of his time, perhaps of all time.

Exactly what harrydavid (nice to know we agree on something outside the Snape Debate rolleyes.gif ) said.

Also would like to add: DD not only was a great magician, he also knew things the DL did not: love. Beyond that: he knew enough to pass this understanding onto the most signifigant person regarding the quest for destroy LV.

I though Harry was the strongest, because though he still lost so much, he was still sane.

He managed to triumph through it all and win. He his heart, power and hes strong.

But would he have been able to triumph without DD giodance, understanding, direction and love?

We don't know enough about Merlin in HP to asses if he was more powerful or less powerful than Dumbledore.

Snape was in a powerful position, but I wouldn't say he was powerful himself. He had the power to sway the tide either way, but that was due to his position as double spy.

I voted Dumbledore, for the same reasons harrydavid gave.

Harry was undoubtedly a powerful wizard, as there were things he could achieve way ahead of his age (patronus, shaking of the imperius curse), however sometimes I wonder if he lost some of that power when he was no longer Voldemort's horcrux (eg losing the ability to speak parseltongue etc).

I don't think Voldemort was particularly powerful at all. Yes he knew lots of dark magic, but his knowledge/skill in other areas was sadly lacking, and he failed to appreciate the magnitude of the path he was headed down.

Dumbledore, hands down. I mean, it's almost scary to try to imagine the kind of power DD had. Like already stated, he defeated a terribly powerful dark wizard who had the Elder Wand. If that doesn't make him the most powerful wizard, I don't know what does.
