I've just noticed that many people seem to feel like they've lost their old friend or something, so I thought it could be nice to collect tips for them to survive it!

Here are some of mine:

Get fresh air (not after re-reading or posting just a couple more times - NOW). An hour of walking, listening some music and clearing your head always helps.

Call to a friend or a family member and disuss anything non-reated to Potter. It's good to remember there are still loving people and happiness out there.

Have a Potter-free day. Stay away from the Lounge, from the books, from the movies... Gives a little distance and perspective.

Sleep. 48h of non-stop reading makes anyone feel bad. Things always seem more simple after prosessing them while sleeping.

Remember you're not alone. There are people in here to discuss anything with.

Not trying to play a shrink or anything, just that these things have helped me at times when it has felt like world is never gonna be the same.

Funny, i've done the exact opposite and i feel it working. I read the book twice and started writing a fan fiction version of what an eighth book would be like and feel alot better. The writing was able to release some of my feelings it would seem.

its just so reassuring that the fandom isn't "ending"--there are still melissa and john and sue and leakylounge potttercast and (if you're not against it) emerson and mugglecast! That has helped me the most.
And remember friendship and love are immortal-- as JKR always points out! Harry potter will never die smile.gif

Well... I'll start reading the book again tonight.
English is not my mother tongue, maybe I'll find out many things I didn't notice the first time?

(OK, OK, I don't think so... but I don't have better ideas for the moment!)

There are movies and conferences and scholarly essays and plenty of hero's journey fiction.
Plus some lovely Harry Potter parodies smile.gif
