*** jberry116 has joined #lounge
<Aradragoon> I thought the movie was horrible....
<bookworm1102> though a certian plot line was a let down
<futureweasley> oh, really? I really enjoyed it
*** Joyhawk2121 has joined #lounge
<futureweasley> hi jberry
<futureweasley> hi Joyhawk!
<Aradragoon> they left out too much for me to like it
<jberry116> Hello! I really enjoyed the movie as well
<Joyhawk2121> Hello everyone
<MrMcGonagall> I did. I would give the movie a solid 3 and half stars out of five.
<bookworm1102> im actually going to see it again tomorrow
<futureweasley> they did leave a lot out, but I've begun looking at the books and the movies very separately
<bookworm1102> me too future
<MrMcGonagall> I might give it four after I see it again. I'm still processing.
<futureweasley> I can't "intermix" them, because I will always be disappointed
<Aradragoon> I liked the other movies i just thought they left a bit too much out
*** Aislinn has joined #lounge
<futureweasley> hi Aislinn
<MrMcGonagall> Hi, Aislinn!
<jberry116> I wasn't sure how I felt after the first time I saw it, I was "processing" as well, but we saw it a second time, and I really enjoyed it
<Aislinn> hi smile
<bookworm1102> I liked everything but one plotline
<bookworm1102> hi aislinn
<futureweasley> since we are going to pick the movie apart in this chat, I'm going to switch the subject really quick for a minute...have you ever considered trying out for a show on Television?
<MrMcGonagall> Nope. Never done so.
<Aradragoon> they are gonna have to fix alot of the plotline that was in the 5th book in the 6th book
<bookworm1102> no im too chicken
<futureweasley> too chicken?! I doubt that bookworm!
<bookworm1102> future i am the shyess person you will ever meet

<MrMcGonagall> there are some truly awful singers on the show.
<Aradragoon> hi chocolate

<Synesthesia> i'd win it.
<Synesthesia> i need to clean ><
<Aradragoon> lol
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> haha, we'll have a lyrics contest, future, on our roadtrip to Prophecy
<futureweasley> omg, that would be fun!
<Synesthesia> i bought L of the R today instead of seeing the HP movie

<MrMcGonagall> I only ever watch the extended versions.
<Synesthesia> i bought all three of them
<Joyhawk2121> there the best the extended versions
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> I LOVE the extended ones - the special features are amazing and so amusing! listen to the actor's commentaries
<Synesthesia> it only cost me 22 bucks minus the gift check. this movie is so classic and epic.
<MrMcGonagall> I don't even remember what the LOTR theatrical release was like.

<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> but i hooked him on harry potter

<Aradragoon> OMG did anyone see OotP at an IMAX?
<bookworm1102> did you go to a midnight showing future

<bookworm1102> yes
<Synesthesia> ok
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> go for it mrmcg
<futureweasley> I did, but I saw it earlier than that, too...a friend of mine bought us tickets to a fundraiser for the Make A Wish Foundation

<MrMcGonagall> While its easy to drift off in various directions, let's all try to have a fun chat by sticking to the topic for today. OK, moving on to the topic for the chat!
<futureweasley> There was lots of great Potter News this week, but the biggest news of all had to be Movie 5 itself. We'd love to hear what you had to think, so we've prepared some general questions for this chat so we can all share our feelings about certain scenes from the new "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" movie! Free feel to sneak out and read this transcript later if you've not had the chance to see the movie yet smile Now
<futureweasley> What was your opinion of the scenes with the Dursleys and the dementors?
<nympheart> The dementors looked different
<Aradragoon> i didnt like that the dementor pinned harry to the wall by choking him
<futureweasley> I liked ther new dementors...they were still creepy, but in a "lepper"ish sort of way
<bookworm1102> I laughed at the way dudly looked atwhen first showed up
<nympheart> I didn't like the new ones as much, but the ice effect was gone, that one annoyed me
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> I jumped out of my skin
<Synesthesia> darn, i liked the ice effect
<futureweasley> I loved the filming of Harry and Dudders running from the park
<Synesthesia> that's one of the things i like from the movie. it was brill
<Aradragoon> oh when harry poked the dementor with his wand to get down.... i thought that was contradictory in a way to a dementors nature
<futureweasley> that was very cool
<MrMcGonagall> I was OK with this scene, although I would have liked to see more of the scene with Petunia and Vernon.
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> Duddy looked so gangsta
<jberry116> I agree MrMcG
<futureweasley> Gangsta Big D
<nympheart> he did chocolate
<futureweasley> totally, that chain killed me
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> he was clean gangsta, though
<MrMcGonagall> What I couldn't believe was that Pig in a Wig could keep up with Harry. LOL
<bookworm1102> thats why I Laughed future
<bookworm1102> lol
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> i hated how harry was carrying him back to the house - it looked like Dud had him in an awkward head lock
<futureweasley> I just wanted him to bust out an edited version of "Gangsta's Paradise"
*** miss_danielle has joined #lounge
<futureweasley> hi danielle
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> i'm sure, in time, there will be one on youtube, future lol
<nympheart> I missed Mrs. Figg's comments
<nympheart> hi danielle
<MrMcGonagall> I liked the new dementors.
<futureweasley> LOL Chocolate
<futureweasley> I'm sure, too
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> yeah, Mrs. Figg wasn't gangsta enough
<bookworm1102> i thought the letter from the ministry was diffrent
<miss_danielle> hello all! smile
<Aradragoon> it was
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> oh yeah! the letter that talked... and no "REMEMBER MY LAST"
<nympheart> it was different, but I didn't completely hate it
<futureweasley> How did you like the introduction to the Order and #12 Grimmauld Place?
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> secret keeper?
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> guess not
<Synesthesia> grah. that part was one of the best parts *angry muttering*
<futureweasley> I loved TONKS!
<nympheart> Harry was a lot calmer than in the book
<MrMcGonagall> Erm, that was interesting but lacking.
<MrMcGonagall> Tonks was awesome. She had a great look.
<Joyhawk2121> I liked Tonks too
<nympheart> I'm not quite sure what I think of that
<bookworm1102> I thought they needed to have Tonks in there more
<nympheart> they did, bookworm
<futureweasley> I pictured Grimmauld Place being in a much more run-down neighborhood
<MrMcGonagall> Me to, future.
<miss_danielle> Yeah, although they got in a clumsy moment of hers!
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> I liked her too - I liked how they were racing - a good homage to their discussion about brooms without wasting screentime - they did a VERY good job referenceing things from the book in subtle but meaningful ways
<MrMcGonagall> A little seedier.
<bookworm1102> yea I thought it would be a bigger house
<futureweasley> I think the best part about Grimmauld Place was Crookshanks, and that wasn't even canon
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> yeah future!
<nympheart> I would have thought they'd have tried to avoid attention on the way there
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> hehehe
<MrMcGonagall> Ewwww, gross. Eating an Extendable Ear.
<nympheart> I loved that, future

<bookworm1102> i thought he was interesting
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> ohhh, he was so gross
<nympheart> hi tinkertime and Mafalda
<MrMcGonagall> I was not wowed by the interior of GP, either.
<miss_danielle> Awww Kreacher was great, I wanted more of him though
<futureweasley> And Hermione being in such a twist because of it...very Hermione-ish
<Aradragoon> Yes on the way there they never put an illusion charm on everyone...
<Joyhawk2121> I thought Kreachers voice sounded weird
<red> he was weird
<tinkertime> hullo
<MrMcGonagall> I loved the look of Kreacher.
<MafaldaWeasley> hi Nymph! Hey everyone!
<futureweasley> no, they had the houseelves BODIES in belljars...ICK! The heads were bad enough!!
<MrMcGonagall> Little toerag.
<Synesthesia> I ALWYAS Picture him sounding realy hoarse
<nympheart> In my mind Kreacher was a bit angrier, but I liked the way he looked
<Synesthesia> and really creepy.. with a deep odd sort of voice... kind of igorish
<bookworm1102> me too nymp
<red> his face was kinda limpy
<Synesthesia> bodies in belljars?
<nympheart> we didn't get to see the portrait
<red> yeah nymph. that was disappointing
<bookworm1102> i thought i heard the portrait at least talk
<futureweasley> the portrait was illuded to, though
<futureweasley> Kreacher was NASTY!
<jberry116> I thought I heard that too Bookworm
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> i have to ignore all the details that were missing, or I'll get angry - the truth is, the characters themselves were so much truer - ron wasn't goofy sidekick anymore... Arthur loved being in the Muggle world... Luna and Umbridge were great - the film's loyalty to the characters is so great that I forget all the details that are missing
<bookworm1102> or maybe that was kreather
<red> Arthur looked different for this movie
<futureweasley> I was waiting to see Kreacher snogging a pair of pants...too bad they missed that
<Synesthesia> it's good that they made the characters true to themselves
<miss_danielle> lol future
<jberry116> That's true Chocolate, and I just have to say I loved watching Aurther in the muggle world, it was fantastic!
<MrMcGonagall> Yes, I thought they hd cut the portrait entirely.
<futureweasley> true, red...his hair was a bit...oh, fluffier?!
<MrMcGonagall> I was surprised to see it in there, even covered up.
<red> yeah
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> my heart swelled, jberry, when he was giddy with glee getting off the escalator
<nympheart> me too jberry
<futureweasley> I was too, MrMcG
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> i was like "that's arthur!"
<jberry116> Yeah, that was probably the best
<MrMcGonagall> Sooner and I nearly died laughing at Arthur in the Tube.
<futureweasley> What did you think of the Trial and the Ministry?
<red> Harry's side was totally empty
<nympheart> I missed Amelia Bones
<futureweasley> The ministry wasn't at all like I pictured it, either
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> it was good - the tension between Dumbledore and Harry was perfect - i was crushed like Harry when Dumbledore didn't stop
<tinkertime> yeah Amelia should have been in there
<bookworm1102> It thought they did a great job
<miss_danielle> I thought the trial was done well
<red> yeah chocolate
<Synesthesia> no amelia? ohmy.gif(
<futureweasley> I saw it as much more "medieval" in my head
<MrMcGonagall> I think amelia was the witch to Fudge's right who kept asking questions.
<bookworm1102> i thought Amellia was there
<Aislinn> I did too, future
<jberry116> I assumed that Ameila was the witch who was asking questions
<futureweasley> brick, wood, and stone...not high polished tile
<red> fudge annoyed me...which was right on the money
<MrMcGonagall> We're just never introduced formally to Ameli

<red> lol
<futureweasley> I love that they added the paper airplane memos, though
<futureweasley> hi cbm
<tinkertime> oops, my bad
<MrMcGonagall> I liked the trial scene.
<Aradragoon> I thought it was pretty good but no one was really amazed that he could produce a corpreal patronus and it made me think that cait was really played down
<Aislinn> quite the fashion statement, chocolate
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> :-D
<MrMcGonagall> figgy did better in this scene than her first one.
<red> yeah those were cool weasley
<futureweasley> we are going to spoil you badly if you haven't seen the movie
<bookworm1102> agreed mr. mcg
<futureweasley> oh, can we talk about Mrs. Figg for a moment?!
<Synesthesia> i don't mind being spoild

*** MafaldaWeasley has quit [Bye]
<Synesthesia> *at least gets a warning*
<jberry116> Yeahm I agree about Mrs. Figg, I had to giggle when she voted with the rest of them
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> ohh synesthesia, really? i'm on the opposite spectrum though smile
<red> i pictuerd her differently

<futureweasley> was it just me, or did you see Mrs. Figg (in the books) as a WAY more excitable person
<red> yes yes yes
<futureweasley> this lady was like Figgy on downers
* chocolateisnotforbreakfast managed to go in absolutely spoiler free!!!
<tinkertime> cmb - did you see both versions?
<Synesthesia> i don't want someone spoiling book seven, but the movie, meh
<nympheart> yeah, I did future, in the movie she wasn't very energetic
<Aradragoon> yes
<bookworm1102> I agree w/ future
<MrMcGonagall> Yes, very much so. The scene with the dementors was completely lacking, but then she didn't have Dung to play off of.
<Synesthesia> darn. i liked her hitting mundungus
<cbm> only Imax so far
<Synesthesia> it was funny
<futureweasley> IMAX rocked
*** diamonddawn has joined #lounge
<red> yeah no Dung there
<cbm> Yes it did!
<Aradragoon> They never mentioned dung.. she said that it was her job to look after him...
<nympheart> hi diamond
<futureweasley> hey diamond
<diamonddawn> Hello
<futureweasley> What was your opinion of the scenes with Umbridge?
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE
<red> yeesh...which is good
<MrMcGonagall> Imelda Staunton rocked my socks.
<nympheart> her acting was fantastic
<MrMcGonagall> She was perfect.
<cbm> I thought her attitude was spot on!
<jberry116> She was so perfect!
* chocolateisnotforbreakfast hugs the scenes with Umbridge
<red> she was awesome
<tinkertime> she played it to a "T"
<bookworm1102> thats exactly how i imagined her
<futureweasley> Imelda Staunton for the Oscar, please
<Joyhawk2121> she did an awesome job
<MrMcGonagall> I always knew Staunton would be good in that role.
<diamonddawn> i thought she was ok. But I pictured someone different
<MrMcGonagall> Poisonously sweet.
<futureweasley> horribly sweet, smug and wicked
<futureweasley> she was delicious in that role
<miss_danielle> She was fantastic
<red> all in pink, purple velvet clothings
<cbm> She did not look the part, but she had the attitude perfect
<MrMcGonagall> I liked her moment with McG on the stairs.
<tinkertime> how can something sooo bad be sooo goodsmile
<jberry116> I liked that even the bricks in her office were pink
<MrMcGonagall> Yes, hosed down with Pepto.
<Synesthesia> i always here umbridge's voice sounding low anyway. ew pink
<red> that was so funny, mr mcg
<bookworm1102> my brother never read the books but he came out of the movie hateing her and he also only knows luna as the crazy girl
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> i can't believe she did it... i kept expecting her to overdo it, but she always knew where the line was... i couldn't STAND lockhart because he was way too over the top, even for his character. She wasn't playing a characture, she was playing it real
<miss_danielle> The scene with the detention "deep down you know you deserved to be punished" creepy
<Synesthesia> pink makes me dizzy and nauseated
<diamonddawn> yes she did play the part very well.
<cbm> I liked when Harry said he could not tell lies while she was being dragged off
<MrMcGonagall> She scared me more than Voldemort.
<Synesthesia> yeah, lockhard was too over the top...
<futureweasley> I was a little concerned...I always saw Umbridge as very ugly..and I don't think that Imelda is ugly at all...I thought that might take away from her "evileness". Alas, it did not
<red> yeah that was creepy, danielle
<futureweasley> me too, MrMcG!!
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> i thought she was pretty too, future... kind of added to her evil disguise though
<Synesthesia> i guess attitude is more important. i'll look foward to those parts than
<cbm> She is evil
<futureweasley> the BEST! "Sorry Professor, I must not tell lies." Again, not canon, but amazing!
<red> loved that
<miss_danielle> when she slapped Harry as well, that got a gasp all round the cinema
<red> YEAH
<MrMcGonagall> That was shocking
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> i was kind of sad that the line wasn't saved for Scrimgeaur and Harry's fight in HBP
<cbm> My audience cheered, It was mostly fans
<diamonddawn> i thought she needed something in the begining. When she was talking to all the students
<MrMcGonagall> I loved how the kittens were all screeching when she was preparing to crucio Harry.
<bookworm1102> i think that the only good thing about umbridge is that because of the blood quills it brought onone of my most favorite bits in the movie
<Synesthesia> lol
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> those kittens!
<nympheart> Umbridge stole the movie, I think I wish she had less screen time as amazing as she was
<futureweasley> oh, my audience was just rambunctious...it was awesome to experience it with so many die-hard fans
<miss_danielle> those cats cracked me up
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> really nymph? Luna stole it for mesmile
<jberry116> I really enjoyed her "theme music" too
<red> i will never look at kittens the same again
<tinkertime> Luna ROCKS!
<miss_danielle> my audience was good too, not all die hard fans so i wasnt expecting it
<futureweasley> the soundtrack rocks
<diamonddawn> I am sorry. But I thought Luna was a better actress then Umbridge
<bookworm1102> the part where fred and george are comforting a younger student because of the blood quills
<futureweasley> Luna was also amazing...Evanna did an amazing job
<bookworm1102> agreed future
<diamonddawn> i wanted more of her
<red> I loved Evanna Lynch as Luna. she was perfect
<Aradragoon> me too, diamond
<nympheart> Evanna Lynch was everything she was anticipated to be, but it seemed like the movie was focused on Umbridge
<tinkertime> Evanna was just born to play that part
<cbm> I saw it at the air and space museum in chantilly VA, it is the only movie playing
<futureweasley> How did you like the scenes with Luna and the thestrals?
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> i can't get over how amazing the characters were - no wonder they're bringing the director back - he did something that really brought out the realness
<MrMcGonagall> I did like Evanna Lynch, and I wasn' sure I would.
<cbm> Luna was great also
<MrMcGonagall> That was a pleasant surprise.
<red> she has just the right amount of...mystery
<diamonddawn> oh they were so good. And the shoes. LOL
<bookworm1102> my little brother only knows luna as the crazy girl
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> i was afraid she'd be too socially awkward to like
<futureweasley> the knargles! blame the knargles for EVERYTHING!!
<nympheart> I loved it, I was kind of afraid to have a lot of hope in her
<red> yes, those really nice converses hanging there
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> but i fell in love with her!
<MrMcGonagall> I did wonder a bit what she and Harry were doing in the forest wwhen it's forbidden.
<bookworm1102> she was exactly how i pictured luna
<red> thats true, Mr. McG
<futureweasley> yes, MrMcG...that is ponderous
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> i loved how she was carrying raw meat in her bag!
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> ROTFL
<cbm> I was unsure how they would get the attitude of luna, and I think she was great
<red> that too, chocolate
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> like "wah?? oh, well, it's luna"
<MrMcGonagall> The thestrals were even creepier than I imagined. I liked 'em.
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> the baby thestral!
<bookworm1102> lol that was funny choclate
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> say it with me
<red> aww!
<diamonddawn> they were good.
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> awwwww
<tinkertime> i feel the same as bookworm - exactly as I read the character in the book
<futureweasley> I liked the Thestrals, too
<miss_danielle> yeh the thestrals were so well done
<red> they werent too creepy
<nympheart> I thought the thestrals were okay
<futureweasley> and I liked that they were "sweet"...I saw them as a bit forboding in the books
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> "you're just as sane as i am"
<red> lol
<diamonddawn> ya not as scary as they say in the books
<MrMcGonagall> They were very skeletal, which I had trouble imagining when I was reading.
<red> true that
<futureweasley> What did you think of the Dumbledore's Army and Room of Requirement scenes?
<tinkertime> they were creepy - but in a noble sort of way
<red> AWESOME
<diamonddawn> they were really good
<bookworm1102> that was soo cool
<futureweasley> can I just say...Neville.
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> FINALLY they used montage to show passage of time!
<red> that robot thing was weird though
<futureweasley> so amazing
<diamonddawn> i just wanted to jump into the screen and learn too
<cbm> Excellent!
<MrMcGonagall> Those were great, but I'm sorry... there's no way to batter your way into the RoR.
<nympheart> I was kind of mad about them using levicorpus
<miss_danielle> yay Neville
<miss_danielle> so great
<jberry116> I loved when Ginny blew that robot to dust
<nympheart> true MrM
<red> "reducto!"
<futureweasley> and that scene where Hermione stupifies the snot out of Ron...I laughed so hard
<bookworm1102> agereed mr mcg
<futureweasley> OH, the patronuses?!
<bookworm1102> me too future
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> my friend thought ginny was just really bad at making things small
<diamonddawn> ya that was so good
<Aradragoon> Portrayed very well
<red> that was hilarious, weasley
<futureweasley> Ginny's is a horse?! What is that all about?!
<nympheart> Ginny's horse and Luna's rabbit
<cbm> I noticed how they used those scenes to show Ginny giving jealous looks at cho
<red> really?
<MrMcGonagall> I loved the scene where Nigel stupefies Harry.
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> haha future, my friend at WB told me about that
<jberry116> Yeah, she was in the background a lot cbm
<Aislinn> i laughed at the interview that Dan and co. did about that scene - that it was like being roasted alive in the RoR
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> last week
<nympheart> except a Stunning spell is supposed to knock you unconscious
<miss_danielle> Yes me too Aislinn
<red> yeah, they were saying it was like an oven, aislinn
<MrMcGonagall> There were some spell problems in this movie.
<futureweasley> Nigel, though not canon, was adorable
<diamonddawn> i saw the looks when Henione was telling Harry Cho couldn't keep her eyes off him. And Ginnys face
<futureweasley> yes MrMcG...not good
<red> yeah diamond
<futureweasley> I loved that diamond
<MrMcGonagall> I LOVED the patronuses.
*** Expelliarmas has quit [Ping timeout]
<tinkertime> the room looked larger than i imagined it - but still very cool
<MrMcGonagall> Coolest special effect in the movie.
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> they're getting closer with the spells, though, mrmcg - they took things right from the battle between DD and Voldie, instead of just having them knock each other here and there
<diamonddawn> they are setting the ground work for the love story to come
<futureweasley> Hermione's otter...very cool
<red> they learned those rather quickly though, Mr McG
<nympheart> I liked the patronuses in this movie
<futureweasley> Luna's bunny, too, was awesome
<MrMcGonagall> And I loved Luna's rabbit
<futureweasley> but Giny's is the one that really has me stumped
<Synesthesia> that sound scute
<diamonddawn> yes that was really good
<MrMcGonagall> I like a horse better for her than a phoenix, honestly.
<bookworm1102> my favorite scene was after they got cought in the RoR
<red> a horse is beautiful and strong, like Ginny
<cbm> It is a large creature, just like Harry's
<futureweasley> I think that he has a horse, because Harry is her knight in shining armour, arriving in the knick of time on his flanked horse
<nympheart> where did he phoenix thing come from, I've been trying to figure that out
<diamonddawn> not sure
* futureweasley fully accepts that she's a hopeless romantic...and maybe even a little delusional
*** Aradragoon has quit [Bye]
* chocolateisnotforbreakfast smacks ginny with the 2x4
*** Aradragoon has joined #lounge
<bookworm1102> well actually it comes after snapes worst memorie so never mind
<MrMcGonagall> I think it came from what people thought they saw in glimpses from trailer clips, etc.
<futureweasley> What were your favorite Weasley moments?
<cbm> FW, you are far from delusional
<diamonddawn> I wanted more of Fred and Geroge
<red> "who are you and what have you done to Hermione Granger?"
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> arthur getting off the escalator
<tinkertime> fred & george leaving school
<MrMcGonagall> I loved Molly giving Harry the squoodge when she welcomed him to GP.
<futureweasley> yes, Red...that was awesome
<bookworm1102> the scene where the twins where comforting a younger student after a blood quill detention
<Synesthesia> squoodge?
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> RON standing up for harry! FINALLY being loyal and brave
<Synesthesia> what's that?
<Synesthesia> ????
<futureweasley> but I think the scene around the table when Mr. Weasley gets back from the attack was my favorite
<red> i loved that too bookworm
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> a squishy hug, i think, synesthesia
<bookworm1102> that was the sweetest moment
<diamonddawn> what did you think of mr weasley's hair. LOL
<futureweasley> seeing the whole family together (minus, of course, Percy, Bill and Charlie)
<nympheart> less humorous, I randomly liked the scene with Harry dreaming and Ron watching, looking concerned
<Aradragoon> i liked when the twins tried to talk to harry in the room of requirment
<MrMcGonagall> Squoodge = big warm, motherly Molly hug.
<Synesthesia> oic
<MrMcGonagall> LOL
<cbm> ok
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> haha nymph
<futureweasley> I thought they used too much product, Diamond. He was "poofy"
<red> yup yup
<miss_danielle> I am adding Sqoodge to my vocabulary if you don't mind MrMcgonagall
<bookworm1102> any time ron defended hermione
<futureweasley> I like that, too Nympheart
<miss_danielle> great word
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> i noticed that too... me, to my friend: "was ron watching him sleep"
<MrMcGonagall> Don't mind at all
<futureweasley> I think that this director really "grew-up" Ron in a big way
<Synesthesia> me too. that word is funny
<red> i was glad for that
<futureweasley> "I'll leave you to your thoughts." No sulking
<nympheart> it was time
<jberry116> I think that's great, I liked this Ron much better than Ron of the past
<MrMcGonagall> Yes, Ron was much better in this film.
<futureweasley> more understanding
<futureweasley> Rupert rocks
<red> more mature
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> the tension between the trio wasn't contrived - it was real
<diamonddawn> yes Ron was a better person this time.
<nympheart> I did wish we saw Ron with Quidditch, and Weasley is Our King, though
<bookworm1102> i think he was a little more mature in this movie
<Synesthesia> well, that's good, making Ron more mature and making him make less faces, though the faces are funny
<cbm> and he said something intelligent smile
<futureweasley> I MISSED Weasley is our King!
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> we understood it, and it was explained, and it was concluded very well
<Synesthesia> like in the second movie with the spiders
<MrMcGonagall> I lurved the number of Ron-Hermione moments.
<tinkertime> agree future
<futureweasley> I think that was so important to Ron's character development
<futureweasley> you did, Mr.McG?!
<bookworm1102> me too mr mcg
<miss_danielle> Now i don't mind them cutting out quidditch but i was sad this meant no Weasley is our King
<diamonddawn> I did miss the ending , where all the order send harry home
<futureweasley> aww, I'm going to turn you into a shipper yet!!
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> hahaha the Grawp moment!!!!
<Synesthesia> aw!
<MrMcGonagall> I'm all about the canon ships.
<red> yeah diamond, i missed that too
<futureweasley> What did you think of the Occlumency lessons with Snape?
<Synesthesia> why did they not have that, that's the best part
<Synesthesia> it makes my eyes all wet
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> i never thought ron would get jealous of a giant
<Aradragoon> i missed the prefect things too..
<red> those were terrible
<nympheart> me too Aradragoon
<bookworm1102> they left lily out!
<MrMcGonagall> I rather liked the way they demonstrated the Occlumency.
<Aradragoon> Oh i didn't like that he did not take out the memory
<miss_danielle> Omg, i loved them, but why did they only take up like 2 minutes of the whole film
<red> I didn't like "Snape's Worst Memory" either
<diamonddawn> Hermy I missed Gump saying that
<miss_danielle> and they butchered his worst memory as well
<nympheart> It seemed like there should have been more
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> I thought they were okay - I didn't like the lack of lily, or that Snape took him RIGHT after Arthur's attack
<MrMcGonagall> I was wowed by the fact that DD had him start lessons right that second.
<red> and because of Occlumency, Harry never went back to GP
<bookworm1102> me too
<miss_danielle> yeh, that was odd
<cbm> not great, I wanted to see the pensive, but think occlumency is something hard to visualize
<tinkertime> no lily = bad
<Aradragoon> i think it was bad that he didnt put the memory in the pensieve
<tinkertime> and the time on screen was pathetic
<diamonddawn> i know they have to take alot out to make the movies. But I do miss all the little things they put in the books
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> and it made it seem like Harry seeing the memory was an accident, and not a deliberate attempt to see Snape's memories... Snape's anger wasn't as justified as it was in the book
<nympheart> I kind of think they should have been dragged out more so that Harry got really tired of them and showed that he wasn't very good at it
<MrMcGonagall> I just wanted to see the whole memory, I didn't care that it was a reverse legilimency.
<bookworm1102> me too
<miss_danielle> i wanted to see it all too
<red> the whole scene was quite choppy
<diamonddawn> beb
<diamonddawn> brb
<miss_danielle> plus, harry barely reacted to it
<tinkertime> we'll see in DH how much of a role it will play - but seems like it was more important
<Aradragoon> Really i dont see how harry would have seen snapes memory using a protego charm...
<bookworm1102> i though the whole movie went kinda fast
<cbm> It was like a number of things in this movie, written in a way to shorten the screen time
<miss_danielle> no questioning his father or anything
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> we could have had less grawp and more occlumency lol
<red> true choco
<nympheart> at least it wasn't as bad as GoF
<tinkertime> lol chocolate - so true
<MrMcGonagall> Yes, I'm still taking in everything I saw.
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> although, grawp wasn't bad at all
<bookworm1102> thats why im seeing again mr mcg
<red> I'm going to see it once more at least
<miss_danielle> grawp was so cute
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> he was downright adorable lol
<nympheart> I thought the same, chocolate, I was surprised
<red> he was better than i imagined him
<cbm> I am going to see it next week with my wife
<futureweasley> Occlumency was cool, but I was disappointed they left Lily out of the memory
<Aislinn> I'm going tomorrow - very excited
<diamonddawn> i am taking my son on Thursday
<red> lily always seems to be left out of things
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> omg... next week this time! I'm gonna be at BORDERS
<tinkertime> seen the regular one - i'm going to see the IMAX next week
* chocolateisnotforbreakfast stops freaking out
<bookworm1102> im going again tomorrow
<diamonddawn> oh ya. I can't wait
<cbm> Aislinn, you have not seen it yet?
<Aradragoon> me too choclate!
<Aislinn> nope

<futureweasley> What did you think of Harry's dreams and visions?
<jberry116> Me too chocolate
<Aislinn> just lots and lots of clips and interviews - lol
<red> they were very flashy, and for me they just didn't work
<cbm> I thought they were well done
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> i thought they were good! it's hard to convey mental anguish like dreams haunting him
<miss_danielle> I thought they were particularly good, actually
<bookworm1102> i thought they did a good job
<nympheart> I wasn't overly impressed, but they weren't too bad
<miss_danielle> it showed how haunted harry was by everything
*** diamonddawn has quit [Bye]
<MrMcGonagall> The dreams and visions were OK, but it did seem that this film repeatedly used the same sort of style for these montages.
*** Expelliarmas has joined #lounge
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> could have used some voice over, i think. "open the door!" or something
<nympheart> I didn't like how they changed the end, that LV was playing with Harry's memories rather than possessing him trying to get DD to kill them
<red> I didn't really like the flashback to fourth year. it was kinda weird
<MrMcGonagall> The dreams and visions really made things seem to speed by for me.
<futureweasley> the one I REALLY liked was when LV was possessing Harry, and the memory montage...those ALWAYS make me cry, but I thought this one was exceptional
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> yeah, nymph! I didn't like that either - and I didn't like how it wasn't conveyed that Harry wanted to die
*** bluestew2u has joined #lounge
<miss_danielle> me too future
<bookworm1102> i agree future
<MrMcGonagall> The possession was INCREDIBLE. I loved it, loved it, loved it.
<red> especially true for the torture scene, where Voldy is in Harry's thoughts
<nympheart> It was gut wrenching, but not heart-wrenching
<red> loved it though
<miss_danielle> it was breathtaking
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> and the Darth Vader moment of "use your hatred"
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> ugh
<red> lol
<tinkertime> lol
<MrMcGonagall> We're going to be extending tonight's chat an extra fifteen minutes. Enjoy!
<tinkertime> that & the robot in RoR
<futureweasley> "I fee sorry for you"
*** Aquamarine has joined #lounge
<jberry116> Harry should have Accioed a light saber eh chocolate?
<nympheart> yay!
<Aradragoon> sweeet
<tinkertime> YEAH!
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> YAY! We're using the time turner!?
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> woo hoo
<miss_danielle> yay
<bookworm1102> yay
<futureweasley> (party)
<red> Harry seemed to be talking to Voldy during the possession, by saying "I feel sorry for you"
<futureweasley> (party)
<cbm> and then had sirius say "use the force james"
<Aquamarine> Hey all! Is this a new time in the Corner Booth? I don't remember there being a "week in news" chat...
<futureweasley> darnit
<Synesthesia> i hate when they use lines like that ><
<nympheart> that was kind of odd red, and cheesy
<futureweasley> What was your opinion of the scenes with Sirius or Kreacher?
<bookworm1102> but it seems all the movies have some cheesy line nymp
<tinkertime> Sirius is (was) one hot wizard
<nympheart> Sirius wasn't as isolated from Harry
<MrMcGonagall> The scene in front of the tapestry with Harry and Sirius had me verklempt.
<red> Kreacher was odd, but I wished that Sirius had just a smidge more screen time
<Aradragoon> Oh the scene with sirius and harry fighting side by side in the ministry i think that was important
<miss_danielle> I thought they did such agreat job of pulling on the heart strings with regards to Sirius, and then botched up the death
<Aquamarine> I loved when Sirius called Harry James during the battle!
<MrMcGonagall> Sooner and I broke ot the Cho Chang Edition of Kleenex.
<Joyhawk2121> I enjoyed all the Harry and Sirus scenes
<Aquamarine> Kreacher was creepy though!
<red> I didn't like when Sirius called Harry "James", and then he couldn't justify himself to Harry
<cbm> I liked them, I just wanted a nice shot of the whole tapestry
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> Harry and Sirius' relationship was developed SO well
<jberry116> I really loved Sirius in this film, it kind of gave you a look at how he may have been if he hadn't been put in Azkaban, and when he was talking about his mother blowing him off the tree, really got to me, felt like he was upset about it, but tried to play it off a bit
<MrMcGonagall> The tapestry was very cool.
<bookworm1102> i liked the tapestry scene and when harry saw sirius for the first time in the movie
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> I was unexpectedly emotional during the tapestry scene... it showed how much they needed each other
<tinkertime> agree MrMcG
<Aradragoon> yea
<nympheart> the tapestry was more like wall paper, but that scene was cool
<Aquamarine> Oh, when Sirius and Harry hugged when they first saw each other... I almost cried!
<miss_danielle> Plus Sirius in just a coat at the train station, was looking fly
<futureweasley> I didn't like the Black Family Tree
<cbm> Well, jame was like a brother to Sirius and Harry is a combo of son/brother, so I can see how he would make the mistake
<Aquamarine> really fw?
<tinkertime> that kind of history (good or bad) is exactly what harry doesn't have
<Aquamarine> why not?
<futureweasley> I hated that they added faces to it to "dumb it down" for the moviegoers
<bookworm1102> i kinda got upset though when he said " we will be a family after this is all over" or somthing like that
*** Expelliarmas has quit [Bye]
<miss_danielle> oh oh me too bookworm
<jberry116> That really bummed me out bookworm
<Aquamarine> oh, you would have rather just have seen the names?
<MrMcGonagall> Now see, I rather liked the style of it, though it was completely different from what I imagined.
<red> that was very sad bookworm
<miss_danielle> i nearly cried right then
<jberry116> I was like OHHH! But you won't! Sad face!
<Aquamarine> lol
<MrMcGonagall> Yes, that line got me, too, bookworm.
<miss_danielle> sad.gif
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> haha jberry
<futureweasley> What did you think of the scenes with Hagrid, Grawp, or Centaurs?
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> i think dumbing it down is necessary sometimes... not everyone is as well read as us - even people who say they're fans don't know the tree smile
<bookworm1102> I was kinda hoping that siriuss death was the one thin that they would change
<cbm> Were the names blacked out in the book? If so, that would be hard to show in a movie
<red> the centaurs looked a bit odd to me
<MrMcGonagall> I liked Grawp in the movie better than I liked Grawp in the book. LOL
<jberry116> me too
<miss_danielle> me too
<bookworm1102> that whole scene was crazy
<Aquamarine> I LOVED the scene where Grawp picked Hermione up!
<nympheart> I think I did too
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> "put me down! now!"
<cbm> I wanted grawp to say Hermy
<red> movie Grawp > book Grawp
<MrMcGonagall> "Grawp, put me down. Now."
<nympheart> I thought Hermione was a bit out of character there
<futureweasley> I loved the bell on the handlebar
<futureweasley> so cute
<miss_danielle> i loved the bit with the bells, like they were communicating haha
<Aquamarine> And then Ron like ran up to hit him with a stick!
<bookworm1102> ron hitting gwarp
<red> Hermione in the scene with Grawp was awesome!
<MrMcGonagall> Grawp looked more humanish than I thought he would.
<futureweasley> Ron hitting Grawp was the best!
<Aquamarine> The romance between Ron and Hermione picked up in that scene!
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> i thought it was funny - not too hermioneish, but not so out of character that i got mad
<MrMcGonagall> Like a big grown-up baby.
<futureweasley> "you leave her alone"
<nympheart> "oh, it's a giant, no problem"
<futureweasley> uh, yeah, right
<miss_danielle> yes! he was like "you leave her alone"
<red> that made me lol bookworm
<Aquamarine> lol fw!
<bookworm1102> i loved it when ron tries to be a hero
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> well, we know giants and humans get it on...
<Aquamarine> I laughed out loud at that line!
<miss_danielle> me too
<MrMcGonagall> Poor Ron. He just has to compete with everyone for Hermione's affections.
<miss_danielle> haha
<red> lol
<Aquamarine> lol
<bookworm1102> lol
<bookworm1102> it reminded me of kig kong in a way
<futureweasley> Grawpee gets what Grawpee wants...he is, after all, about 20 feet tall and weighs 2 tons. You want to go toe-to-toe with that Weasley? Have at it.
<bookworm1102> *king
<Aquamarine> lol fw
<miss_danielle> i loved the fact they still had Hagrid putting that steak on his eye
<red> the steak ice pack...biggrin
<MrMcGonagall> Mmm. Dragon steak.
<red> and then Fang got to eat it
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> i think the focus was definitely on family, and that's why they didn't delete Grawp
<futureweasley> the Centaurs actually upset me...I wish they would have spoken
<cbm> it looked like beef to me, in the book it is dragon and a strange color if I am not mistaken
<MrMcGonagall> I love it when he calls Fang a dozy dog. I say that to my dog all the time.
<bookworm1102> there was no madam maxime though
<Aquamarine> nope, no olympe
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> it's green, cbm smile you're not mistaken
<red> no word of Hagrid's ordeal at all, really
<tinkertime> poor Hagrid
<cbm> no dobby sad
<MrMcGonagall> Yes, the centaurs really had a change in their look.
<MrMcGonagall> They did seem more wild.
<Aquamarine> yeah, they were less human
<nympheart> that was sad, cbm
<jberry116> Maybe they got a reverse makeover
<miss_danielle> i kind of liked that though
<futureweasley> in the interest of trying to talk about everything, I'm going to move a little more quickly now...sorry guys...I want you to have a chance to talk about everything!
<miss_danielle> Much more sinister
<futureweasley> Did you like the Ministry scenes with the Death Eaters?
<bookworm1102> "im sorry professor, i must not tell lies"
<nympheart> no Firenze teaching either
<nympheart> Bella was amazing
<red> those scenes were quite cool
<Aradragoon> I didn't like that Harry handed over the prophecy
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> I wanted to see the brain room
<miss_danielle> HBC was SO good as Bella
<futureweasley> I loved Bella...loved HBC
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> and what the heck is with the ghost apparating effects?
<red> I applaud all the special FX people!
<bookworm1102> i thought the hall of prophcy was kinda cool
<futureweasley> I loved the new DE masks
<MrMcGonagall> Bella and Lucius were awesome.
<cbm> They were good, bella was great!
<nympheart> I wanted to see the Time Room and the locked door
<tinkertime> i liked the way the appeared with the special effect
<Aquamarine> When lucius was taking off his mask and the DEs were surrounding them, that had a really creepy affect
<futureweasley> I liked that effect, Chocolate. You didn't?
<bookworm1102> i loved the way n
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> can't someone CRACK OPEN THE BOOK to see what a magical fight and magical spells LOOK like!?
<red> I wanted to see the Brains
<Aquamarine> I wanted to see the planets
<Synesthesia> i liked the brains
<bookworm1102> neville tried to avenge his parents
<Aquamarine> I know!
<Synesthesia> the time time things
<miss_danielle> I wish it was a bit more of a struggle, because in the book the kids put up such a good fight
<red> and I thought that Hermione was going to get cursed with that purple slashy spell
<cbm> I wanted to see pluto get blown up
<MrMcGonagall> I wish they hadn't been doing the weird vaporish thing with the cloaks. Since when do DEs fly?
<Synesthesia> yeah, they were using all of their DA training.
<Aquamarine> LOL cbm
<futureweasley> Yates told Steve VanderArk that he was on the HP Lexicon daily, researching
<futureweasley> isn't that amazing?
<nympheart> yes red, they all got injured except Harry
<futureweasley> and they still got things wrong
<miss_danielle> that is awesome
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> i'm getting sick of spells just knocking people over - make their hair grow! make them have a fit of laughter! make them dance away
<miss_danielle> yeh
<miss_danielle> haha
<Aquamarine> omg fw, that is crazy!
<red> lol nymph
<Aquamarine> so cool for steve!
<futureweasley> they need a "canon advisor". I'll send my app in tomorrow
<MrMcGonagall> Yes, I was underwhelmed by the Ministry battle as a whole.
<Aquamarine> me too!
<nympheart> lol, need an assistant, fw?
<futureweasley> What did you think of the battle between Voldemort and Dumbledore and Harry?
<cbm> I think A lot of it was different to make it more visually appealing
<red> AWESOME, SPECTACULAR!
<MrMcGonagall> Eh, it was OK. I thought it lacked artistry.
<miss_danielle> i thought the battle was great
<Aquamarine> did anyone else see the like "Priori Incantatem" thing that was happening at the very beginning
<jberry116> I LOVED Voldemorts face when Dumbledore came out of the fire
<Aradragoon> i liked it...
<bookworm1102> that fire snake thing was pretty interesting
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> THAT was from canon, so i liked it much better! the magic made more sense and was more than "bam!" knocked you over!
<red> the DRAGON of FIRE
<nympheart> They reversed DD and LV's elements, Gryffindor is fire and Slytherin's water, they used them backwards
<Aradragoon> it wasn't priori incantantum
<futureweasley> I thought that, for a "climax", it was a bit flat
<MrMcGonagall> That's interesting, nymph.
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> I liked how the glass turned to sand - that was a great elemental effect!
<Joyhawk2121> I thought DD and Voldys battle was great
<Aquamarine> It really looked liked their wands were connected in the beginning, which bugs me!
<cbm> I would of liked to see the statues being animated and fawkes eat an AK
<futureweasley> but there WAS something that I loved, that had the potential to be HORRIBLY cheesy...the possession...and DD talking Harry through it
<futureweasley> I thought that was good
<Aquamarine> Omg, that scene took my breath away!
<Aradragoon> Oh yes the possession was great
<Synesthesia> awwwwww no STATUES!! *groan*
<red> i loved the possession
<Aradragoon> i thought all of harry's friends being there to watch really added more emotion to it
<red> I did want to see fawkes eat the AK
<MrMcGonagall> Actually, I nearly went spastic when DD was talking to Harry. Last week in my Reading Group I asked the question about what DD would have done if Harry couldn't throw off the possession.
<bookworm1102> the possetion was awsome
<jberry116> yeah, and I thought the acting for that shows great improvement
<MrMcGonagall> And then the movie answered my question. LOL
<futureweasley> the lines that needed to be delivered could have really been "waxy", but I felt there was "heart" within them
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> what was up with harry blatantly saying "i pity you" to voldemort?
<Aquamarine> Was anyone else underwhelmed by DD entrance? In the book it was like amazing, but he just came into the fire this time!
<red> how did it answer it, MrMcG?
<futureweasley> yes Aqua...he was just suddenly there...flooed in
<futureweasley> totally bizarre
<Aquamarine> In the book everyone turned around to see DD had come to save the day, and that didn't happen in the movie!
<Aquamarine> It should have!
<cbm> I thought in the book it was just the fact that he was there, that was anazing
<MrMcGonagall> DD talked Harry through it. Rather different than what we get in the book. Mine had always been a what if sort of question.
<futureweasley> What about the veil and Sirius's death?
<miss_danielle> weak, so weak
<Aradragoon> lacking, they left no doubt
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> they defintely captured the CONFUSION from the book
<cbm> why an AK, and not a stunner
<Aquamarine> Okay, did Bella AK Sirius in the books?
<nympheart> Bella AKed him
<cbm> no
<Aradragoon> yes
<nympheart> she doesn't in the book
<bookworm1102> ok i have a question did Bella ak sirius in the books?
<Aquamarine> no she didn't
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> i was like "what just happened?", which is EXACTLY what happened when I read the book
<Aradragoon> but in the books he was fighting bella
<miss_danielle> not in the books she doesnt
<red> she KILLED him
<futureweasley> no, in the book, Bella stunned him
<Aquamarine> lol I totally caught that!
<cbm> no it was not green in hte book
<Aquamarine> it was definetly a stun, so the veil was like pointless!
<red> i thought it was
<Synesthesia> nope red
<jberry116> It was red, if I remember correctly
<futureweasley> it was red
<Aradragoon> but it was red
<Aradragoon> bella used an ak
<futureweasley> rightg
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> the veil sucked him in, he didn't fall through it
<cbm> red is right
<bookworm1102> wow Auqua we are reading each others minds
<futureweasley> see, I LOVE you canon fans!
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> it was active
<Synesthesia> and he fell into the veil and didn't return.
<Aquamarine> lol bookworm!
<red> he fell through the veil
<red> not sucked in
<Aquamarine> haha fw!
<bookworm1102> since when is the veil see though?
<miss_danielle> i thought it was confusing and not in a good way
<cbm> they also changed the death room, the seat go to the floor in the book
<red> yeah
<jberry116> Well, it kind of seemed that when he got hit with the AK he didn't exactly die straight away. He kind of looked stunned, then sort of fell. So I was like, wait, what?!
<futureweasley> since WHEN does an AK allow you to stand there and make significant eye-contact with someone? AK = death instantly
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> and then after doing such a GREAT job of building up the relationship between Sirius and Harry, they didn't let Harry mourn!
<red> yeah, fw. that confused me
<miss_danielle> Mark Kermode was ranting about it earlier
<Synesthesia> darn...
<tinkertime> agre fw
<futureweasley> and NO Lupin moment, which was sad for me, too
<Aquamarine> i DID like how they cut out the music though
<Synesthesia> the movies are sometimes short on feelings *thinks of 4*
<cbm> JKR barely let Harry mourn also
<bookworm1102> see this whole sirius death thing i didnt agree with so i was kinda hoping that they would change it or more like wishing smile
<Synesthesia> like sad and dark feelings.
<futureweasley> I almost needed to hear Lupin's voice crack and say "he's gone, Harry"
<red> that time b/t Sirius dying and Harry cursing Bella went by very fast
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> this was where the lack of emotional payoff made it only my second favorite movie - i actually liked the feeling in 54
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> in 4
<miss_danielle> I know the bit for me in the book which was so sad was the exchange from Lupin
<Aquamarine> yes
<futureweasley> How did you like the use of the Daily Prophet newspaper?
<MrMcGonagall> Only twelve minutes left everyone! The transcript of this chat can be found in the Corner Booth forum, http://www.leakylounge.com/Corner-Booth-f184.html
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> but harry mourned in DD's office, which didn't happen here
<nympheart> I kind of liked that, red
<miss_danielle> I loved Bellatrix's skipping off though "I killed Sirius Black"
<Aquamarine> I really liked it!
<miss_danielle> yeh i liked that
<cbm> I thought it was well done
<nympheart> I loved the use of the papers
<red> using it as a sort of "divider" was quite amusing
<futureweasley> I liked the Prophet too
<futureweasley> Potter to PLotter?
<futureweasley> that was awesome
<bookworm1102> me too miss danielle
<tinkertime> like old-time movies where the newspaper twirls in
<red> lol
<Aquamarine> Omg, I almost freaked out at the end of the possession scene when they transitioned out to the Prophet and Dumbledore was holding up a limp Harry, and then it seemed like Harry was dead
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> hehe VERY good way of getting ideas in there, showing that the magical world is more than just Hogwarts
<MrMcGonagall> I did rather like the use of the Prophet.
<Aquamarine> I was thinking to myself, that it what it is going to be like if Harry dies at the end of book seven!
<MrMcGonagall> I agree, chocolate.
<cbm> I try not to think of it aqua
<nympheart> they talked about disappearances, but there were none in OotP, other than that I have no newspaper complaints
<Aquamarine> lol me neither!
<bookworm1102> i thought the prophet bit was kinda neat
<futureweasley> oh, I liked the Hog's Head, too...but I wish the sign would have been dripping with blood. OH, and the goat!!
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> haha the goat!!!
<Aquamarine> lol
<futureweasley> I was like the only one laughing at the goat
<jberry116> The goat was great!
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> that's what i mean by subtle details
<red> the goat was hilarious!
<bookworm1102> i thought the goat was so random
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> me too future!
<nympheart> lol, the goat was awesome
<Aquamarine> But I didn't like the bartender *cough*Aberforth*cough
<nympheart> but no Dung behind a veil
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> aberforth got in trouble for practicing spells on goats, bookworm
<red> dressed as a woman
<cbm> There were a number of people laughing at the goat in my showing
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> not completely random lol
<red> not completely...
<Aradragoon> most people laughed at the goat in my theater..
<nympheart> only a couple in mine
<futureweasley> What was your favorite "special effect" or sequence of special effects?
<bookworm1102> yea chocolate i wasnt thinking that at 12:30 at night smile
<jberry116> Some of those small things were how you could tell if the people in your theater read the books
<red> the wand battle!
<Aquamarine> possesion scene, if that counts
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> the water ball that Voldemort got trapped in
<nympheart> I think the patronuses
<bookworm1102> the hall of prophcys
<futureweasley> I loved the brooms down the Themes
<Aradragoon> yes same as aqua
<futureweasley> Thames?
<Aquamarine> the filibuster fireworks too!@
<futureweasley> what's the name of that river?
<cbm> I I liked flying on the thestrals, especially luna
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> haha future
<MrMcGonagall> I was all about the patronuses.
<futureweasley> the Thames?
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> you're so american
<bookworm1102> me too auqa
<jberry116> Yeah, the fireworks were great, I loved the giant W as Fred and George flew off
<futureweasley> yes, yes I am
<red> I wish Fred and George would have done the swamp
<Aquamarine> lol
<nympheart> me too red
<futureweasley> the UKers could be hexing me right about now
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> the kid getting the giant double chin was nauseating lol
<bookworm1102> i was waiting for the swamp
<Synesthesia> that bit in the book was so funny
<Aquamarine> lol that was funny
<red> especially flitwick roping a bit off in the end
<Aradragoon> i was waiting for the scene with harry doing a patrronus infront of umbridge
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> i liked the writing in the back of the hand effect
<futureweasley> OH GOD, the pussy growth exploding of Filch's face?!
<futureweasley> ACK!
<red> the OWLs weren't really in the movie
<jberry116> That was SOO gross!
<futureweasley> (sorry mods, caps)
<nympheart> that was disgusting
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> hahaha
<Synesthesia> ?.?
<futureweasley> but it was nasty
<bookworm1102> at least they kept the snack boxes
<Aquamarine> I liked the DA stuff too! all the spells they were doing, and ginny completely blowing up the "DE dummy" or whatever
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> that pus was NASTY
<tinkertime> thanks for the reminder future - just about to eat dinner here smile
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> hahahahahahha
<cbm> I expected the astronomy exam to be there
*** jberry116 has quit [Bye]
<Synesthesia> oh... that word
<red> they were red and yellow...
<MrMcGonagall> Ewwww.
<futureweasley> np tinkertime
<futureweasley> LOL
<Synesthesia> i was like, ew.... what? huh?
<nympheart> I missed the astronomy
<nympheart> I didn't think McGonagall did enough in the movie
<Aradragoon> i expected them to try and get rid of hagrid by force
*** jberry116 has joined #lounge
<futureweasley> I really liked the NEW "fireface" Sirius, too
<bookworm1102> mcg didnt get sent to st mungos either
<futureweasley> the old one kinda sucked
<Aquamarine> Oh, yeah! McGonagall was supposed to have her shining moment! What the heck>
<Synesthesia> i loved her fighting with umrbidge.
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> there were events lacking, no doubt, but the characters and acting saved it
<nympheart> much better than the last, future
<Synesthesia> one of the best parts ever
<red> that was much better fw
<Aquamarine> And I wanted to see Peeves just for the chandelier joke
<bookworm1102> me too future
<red> i expected Umbridge to be grabbing at Sirius's head though
<Aradragoon> Overall good but they missed important parts of the plot
<nympheart> "it unscrews the other way" is my favorite line in that book
<MrMcGonagall> Sigh. No Peeves yet again. Maybe they feel it's too late to introduce him
<futureweasley> What was your overall opinion of the sets and music?
<Aquamarine> I know I so wanted to see it!!!
<Aquamarine> The music for Umbridge was really good!
<tinkertime> i really like the new style for the soundtrack
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> i just remember that if i want the story, i'll read the book - if i want to see the characters come to life, i'll see the movies - and this time, the movie got the characters right on
<red> music was very good, even with the new composer
<futureweasley> I really liked the new score...the music was very fitting
<bookworm1102> i bought the soundtrack the day after i saw the movie
<cbm> sets were reat, I did not notice the music, so that is a good thing
<Aquamarine> And then the quirky music for Luna was great!
<MrMcGonagall> Set were pretty good. The soundtrack had its moments, but it didn't leave a huge impression on me.
<jberry116> I really enjoyed the music,, I was not sure at first hearing the preview before the move came out, but once I heard it during the show I really enjoyed it
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> the "running" music was so cheesy lol
<futureweasley> I loved the track when the Advance Guard was taking Harry to #12 GP
<red> I really liked the set for the Ministry
<cbm> the ministry set was very very impressive
<bookworm1102> my favorite is track # 1
<futureweasley> the sets were beautiful, but not what I pictured at all
<MrMcGonagall> I agree future.
<Aquamarine> The music was a little "cheesy" when the Advance Guard was about to run into the cruise boat or whatever
<futureweasley> especially the Ministry and GP
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> hall of prophecies was a bit overdone
<miss_danielle> The music for Umbridge was so creepy and great
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> but since they didnt' have any other rooms, they had to overdo it
<Aquamarine> I agree missDanielle!
<futureweasley> yes, I didn't see the Hall of Prophecies with Cathedral Ceilings
<bookworm1102> the music for fred and georges fireworks was my favorite
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> i guess we know a prophecy won't be important in 7, if it's okay that they destroyed ALL of them in the movie
<red> lol
<bookworm1102> lol
<miss_danielle> lol
<Synesthesia> hmmm
<Aquamarine> the Department was not at ALL how I pictured it, but i'm not complaining
<Synesthesia> why isn't it next week? ><
<MrMcGonagall> Reducto! I loved it.
<red> they're all gone!
<cbm> Ginny did make a mess of things
<red> lol
<Aradragoon> Yea i wonder why they took out the love room..
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> Ginny...
<Aquamarine> I know MrMc! Ginny had a huge power moment there!
*** red has quit [Bye]
<Synesthesia> no time?
<Synesthesia> there's never enough time
<nympheart> I thought it was kind of weird how Ginny kept having bursts of power
<bookworm1102> i guess that would be foreshadowing you know ginny being really powerful
<MrMcGonagall> I loved those Ginny moments.
<Aquamarine> I loved them too.
<Aquamarine> I loved them too.
<Aradragoon> also foreshadowed ginny always looking at harry
<Aquamarine> oops sorry for the double post!
<futureweasley> Overall, Order of the Phoenix...thumbs up? Thumbs down? What is your overall rating?
* chocolateisnotforbreakfast takes a deep breath
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> thumbs up!!!!!

<MrMcGonagall> One and a half thumbs up.
<nympheart> how about thumb to the side?
<jberry116> I wish I had more thumbs haha
*** Aislinn has quit [Bye]
<cbm> 3.5 stars
*** bluestew2u has quit [Bye]
<bookworm1102> i have to go bye guys
<Aradragoon> to the side good acting but left out important parts of the plot
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> ignoring things that weren't there, and focuing on things that ARE there
<Aquamarine> out of how many cbm?
<Synesthesia> bye
<nympheart> bye bookworm
<miss_danielle> two very enthusiastic thumbs up
<Synesthesia> that's so hard for me to do...
<Aquamarine> bye bookworm!
*** bookworm1102 left #lounge []
<tinkertime> considering the length of the book - it was a pretty good job
<Synesthesia> (darn it, i still wish it was next week ><)
<MrMcGonagall> That's how I rated it, too, cbm.
<cbm> ***,5
<futureweasley> I thought it was good, too
<MrMcGonagall> This was a tough one to bring to screen.
<Aquamarine> yes, they did a good job condensing it
<futureweasley> my favorite in the series thus far
<Aquamarine> Absolutely MrMc
<miss_danielle> me too future
<chocolateisnotforbreakfast> my favorite is still Goblet of Fire
<Synesthesia> hmm maybe i'll see it.
