In this show, number 51:
Matt Lewis (Neville Longbottom) is back on PotterCast for the first time in a year, and he's ready to talk all about movie five, the new director, the new cast, the new Neville and much, much more. -Sue tries not to deafen him! -Matt says Neville "rapidly changes throughout [film five]," while we see that Harry is "not invincible." He says he's working harder than ever before, closely with the trio and Ginny. -Differences between screenwriters Kloves and Goldenberg ("He's American, for a start.") -The struggle over how to say "I killed Harry Potter!" in the fourth film -Matt on taking down Bellatrix: "I'll do my best." -Revisiting the scene from movie four where Neville reacts to the idea of his parents' torture. ("I wanted to get that so right.") -David Yates, the director of the fifth Potter film, and how coaxes a performance out of an actor. "He believes no one knows more about the character than the person who's played him for the past five years," says Matt. -Imelda Staunton plays evil professor Dolores Umbridge as "cruel, twisted and slightly mental...she's plotting how she's going to kill you later on, when your back is turned." -Teasing about the World Cup commences -"Yo Queen, how you doin'?" (says Matt) Also in the show: -John's away for the opening and closing of the show, so the girls play. -The PodcastAwards are closed - thank you for the votes! (Edit - now we know we won, thank you so much! We'll talk about it next week!) -Jo in New York, Jo on the street, Jo everywhere! -Phoenix Rising, conventions and fan events -The mailbag is back! -How did Hagrid get to Godric's Hollow? -The mirror Sidekick -How did Dumbledore do magic at 4 Privet Drive in book six without getting Harry in trouble? -Dumbledore and his purple suit getting great reservations at restaurants -YouTube fun! -Sue as Arabella Figg! I'm listening as fast as I can! (Faster, stupid, faster!)
Makes sense that Matt knows more about Neville than anyone. He definitely seemed a lot more eloquent this time around. -------------------- "It's like you get homesick for a place that doesn't exist.... My first big reaction is OH MY GOD, no more modcast! no more guru or lori or any of the modcast regulars. it'll be sad to see the modcast go, but i'm sure what's to come on pottercast will be fantastic

Ooh, Melissa that's harsh, There's no need to gloat, when england got knocked out (Which I knew they would) I was supporting Italy, because I've a cousin that's italian, so I did. We beat USA though, It's not much of an achievement since they can't play football that well (No offence!) *whistles innocently*
Just wait till Euro 08', It's coming home It's coming home It's coming Football's coming home *hums* Anyway back to PC, Matt Lewis is incredible for doing this, right in the middle of filming too, I'm so exicted for OOTP and more of the interview it's not funny, what's great is he knows so much about the books and Neville's character it's fantastic listening to him. *goes of to listen to remaining 25 minutes* EDIT: Look's like Matt is a 'Doctor Who' fan, he mentioned 'TARDIS', could I respect him anymore than I do now? Don't tell me I'm the only one who picked up the reference. This post has been edited by Siobhan4hp: Aug 16 2006, 03:09 AM |

No more modcast!
I knew that Lorie was leaving but that is really sad. It was a good segment but I guess it is time to retire it. Matt seems so lovely. Elizabeth who spoke to him... You are on my death list. -------------------- |

Thats sayin something Oh, I have always love Matt Lewis, but now I love him even more (if thats possible)! He's such a champ - if only all the actors in the HP movies were as dedicated as Matt is when it comes to getting his character just right. i admire that so much. Round of applause for matt lewis everyone!!! Am looking forward to hearing the rest of the interview in the coming weeks. I missed John in the beginning and the wrap-up! The ol' bombarda drums was a bit short without Big J in the house... I liked the modcast, but if it had to be cut, I'm glad they're replacing it with more Canon Conundrums - a totally awesome segment that gets us all thinking!!!! Great episode -------------------- |

:::sighs::: I just love Matt. I like that he's probably one of the only cast members that reads the books. Matt is just a great source of OotP info. I wish he could’ve told us what Yates wanted him to do. I really like his comments on Evanna. They were actually nice unlike someone else’s. Oh, and I died of laughter on the “holy cricket” thing. I’m anxiously awaiting the rest of the interview.
I'm glad the mailbag is back. It’s one of my favorite segments, so... whoo hoo! One lil...somewhat negative comment, I loathe the series Veronica Mars, and now I'm forced to like it because it's keeping Pottercast afloat. lol, I can't help but laughing when Melissa gives the show recap. Great show, guys! -------------------- ![]() ![]() "Severus...please..." |

Matt Lewis as awessome: he is a huge fan of the books, he plays Neville's role great PLUS he usually takes the time to talk to the fans. We appreciate it very much!
The interview was great, i loved to hear about the new actors (YAY for Evanna and Imelda Staunton) and Matt's thoughts on Neville. It seems like the script is ok which i thought could have been the weakest part of the movie. It a 700 page long book and i was afraid they'd left out too much. But if Matt says they included the most important things plus the fact that David Yates focuses on the characets...its gonna be an awesome movie! No more ModCast? Thats sad, i really liked it. the funnies comments: - Hargid riding a tree - Melissa Figg -------------------- "I sometimes think we Sort too soon...." |

Matt Lewis rules!! I know what he means about the language thing though. My Welsh father takes the mickey all the time out of our Yorkshire accents. Mine isn't really that strong so it's kind of a Standard British accent, but when I talk to my friends I can tell they have Yorkshire accents.
Shame to hear the Mod cast go! I have to say that was probably my all time favourite segment. Bye Laurie, much biscuits!! YaY for keeping Moochka, Canon Conundrums is coming back, and WELL DONE again at the Podcast Awards!
