Harry's third year at school is marred by not getting his permission note to go into Hogsmeade signed by Uncle Vernon, after Harry inflated Aunt Marge. A mysterious Prisoner who has escaped from Azkaban appears to be hunting Harry down, and so security is tightened.

Again all is not what it seems when Harry learns about his own past and capabilities, and as he also meets new teachers, in particular, Remus Lupin. See how much you can remember of Harry's adventures, and how important the events of Prisoner of Azkaban are to the entire series. The three options at the top of the page will allow you to record your score.

QUESTIONS:

1. What is the importance of the newspaper clipping Ron sent to Harry?
2. In how many other books in the series does Stan Shunpike appear?

8. What item did Hermione find so important in Prisoner of Azkaban that was smashed later, in Order of the Phoenix, in the Department of Mysteries?
9. Who wrote the Marauder's Map that Fred and George gave to Harry for Christmas?
10. What Goblet of Fire Quidditch World Cup team were all said in POA to be using Firebolt broomsticks?
11. Did Harry play in the Gryffindor team against Ravenclaw in any other book in the series?
12. Who was the Servant of the Dark Lord who had been chained for twelve years in Professor Trelawney's second true prophecy?
13. If Harry witnessed Professor Trelawney's second true prophecy, what was the first true prophecy?
14. What was Scabbers missing that betrayed his true identity?

Wow, I only got one wrong! clap2.gif Oh, yeah. I feel accomplished.

Q1. Why was Harry so affected by dementors?
A1. Dementors feed on the positive emotions, happiness and good memories of human beings, forcing them to relive their worst memories. Perhaps Harry is affected the most because his worst memories are stronger and more powerful than those of the average person. I mean, come on, at this time he's faced and survived Lord Voldemort three times. How many other witches and wizards could claim that at thirteen? bruce.gif

Q2. Why did Snape dislike Harry's father and Remus Lupin so much?
A2. This is actually the saddest sub-plot of Harry Potter, for me. Severus Snape is my favorite character. wub.gif Anyways, there are many reasons for Snape to dislike James Potter. Mainly because he was constantly bullied by both James and Sirius. Another reason may be because Lily loved James more. As far as Lupin is concerned, there wasn't much dislike for Lupin as a person, but I believe Snape disliked the attention he was getting, as well as Lupin's friends and the fact that he was in charge of making the wolfsbane.

Q3. Why couldn't Remus Lupin keep his DADA job?
A3. He was a werewolf. I think it's self explanatory.

And for the record, POA is my favorite book. rolleyes.gif
