First, your enthusiasm is AWESOME. I'm glad you are already interested in 2011. All we really know are the dates (July 14 -18) and place (Orlando, Harry Potter Theme Park). Lets get through the 2009 event first, and then we'll start on 2011.

ive been checking leakycon.com for more news on LeakyCon 2011, and things are starting to pop up on there (previously only stuff on the Con in Boston was up, and i would just stare jealously at the screen lol!) anjd i got a little confused.. as usual. here's what i got from the main page on there *bold mine*:

so is the date set for July 14-18, 13-17, or 15-20? or is that still being settled? i know it doesnt really matter much right now since its far away, but it would be lovely if you could inform me! biggrin.gif

also i have another non-date related question. i know (or at least i heard about it, but dont know much) that under-eighteen's had to be chaperoned, is that correct? if so, is the chaperone required to stay with the minor(s) during the entire Con? im asking more out of a financial concern, since that would mean another room in one of the hotels, etc etc.

I am guessing that the chaperone does have to be with there minor for the duration of the con for liability reasons. and especially if the chaperone and the minor are family I would just share a room. However i don't know your situation so it may be a little different. However I am not a staffer so don't quote me.

ok i live i the uk...but im actually considering this........i really want to visit the WWOHP anyway... so this would be a perfect time i think....hmmmmmm gonna look at flight costs and way it up.

I'm not quite sure about the date situation yet, so I won't comment on that right now. But I did want to answer your question about chaperones. smile.gif I was the Youth Programming Director for LeakyCon 2009, and this was our policy:

Everyone under 18 must have a chaperone. The chaperone must be registered for LeakyCon, and be present on the hotel property while the minor is attending the conference events.

The policy for LeakyCon2011 should be very much the same.
Does that help? Hopefully I'll see you in Orlando in 2011!
