We’ve compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions, but in case you have a query that is not included in the list… here’s where you can ask us! Be warned, however… we are not the all-seeing eye, and at times we may not have a ready answer for you. But we’ll do the best with our less than stellar Divination abilities!

QUOTE(Questauthor @ May 30 2008, 09:10 AM) I, for one, am glad we're going to have room for our screen names on the registration form/identification badges... I wouldn't know half of you without seeing them!! I would be too! I've always joked (to myself) that it would be so much easier if everyone put their avatar from LL on their badge so you'd know! I usually look at avatars, rather than screen-names, when identifying a poster. But if there weren't user-names on the badges, I'd be completely lost!

QUOTE(Questauthor @ Jun 4 2008, 08:24 AM) QUOTE(MagicDucks @ May 31 2008, 08:23 AM) Now I've got a question about being a guardian. I'll be 20 during the con and my other sister will be 15. Will I be able to be her guardian? I've heard rumors that you have to be 21, I really hope those aren't true. My parents don't plan on attending. Hey Magicducks (love that name!) I checked with our youth programming people and they've informed me that yes, you do have to be 21 to be someone's guardian. Again, lots of legalize reasons for it, but that's the rule.
Hehe, thanks. It's a spin-off of my name on another HP forum (DucksRMagical).
Dang legalities! Oh, well, my mom decided that she would go with us! So my Poufsouffle can still come.

QUOTE(Lizzieangel90 @ Jun 23 2008, 10:52 AM) QUOTE(MagicDucks @ May 19 2008, 11:54 AM) I have 2 questions. First, can you go to the youth programming if you're over 18? I'm 19, so I'll be in the age group where you can't partake of the alcoholic bits or the youth programming. My sister is 14, so is there anyway I could go to the youth stuff with her? Will there be other stuff going on during that same time? I guess that was more than 1 question. Hey MagicDucks! I'm Lizzie, the Youth Programming Director for LeakyCon2009. You are more than welcome to join your sister in the youth programming activities! We are happy to have the older family members, parents and/or guardians participate. Hope that answers your question! See you in Boston! -Lizzie What about other LeakyCon participants who are neither parents, guardians, or family members? As a LeakyCon registrant I would want to check out all sectors of the Conference. Could it be possible for "non-youths" (18 +) to check out such activities? What I'm getting at is, will people be checked for ID at the door to each individual Youth Program to be sure that they are truly 17 or under to be accepted into the room / event? Will people be nicely escorted away if they are 18 or older and not Parent, guardian, or family?

Will people be nicely escorted away if they are 18 or older and not Parent, guardian, or family? That's a good question, dumbleydore18. The answer is, yes, those who are 18+ will only be admitted into "youth programming" if they are a guardian of someone who is of age to attend the event. The idea behind youth programming is for the youth to feel safe and secure, and able to express themselves without feeling self-conscious about who's around. It's also an opportunity for the youth to meet the presenters without having to fight through the "adults" who normally attend the events.
So, yes...in short, if you aren't under 17 and trying to get into a "Youth Programming" event, you will be asked (nicely) to attend a different event. But, I'm sure our 18+ crowd will be respectful of our request and let the youth have their minute in the sun.
Thanks for the question!
