POA is probably the best place to find descriptions of the Leaky Cauldron since Harry stays there a while. In HBP the descriptions on p. 107 are brief. The Leaky Cauldron was, for the first time in Harry's memory, completely empty. Only Tom the landlord...remained of the old crowd. .... Tom nodded gloomily and returned to wiping glasses; Harry, Hermione, Hagrid and the Weasleys walked through the bar and out into the chilly little courtyard at the back where the dustbins stood. There is quite a bit about Apparating and Disapparating in at least three of the books. Try GOF at the beginning of Chapter 6 (The portkey). It is page 63 in my edition. (BE). "Harry knew that Apparating was very difficult; it meant disappearing from one place and reappearing almost instantly in another." After that quote there is a discussion about Apparating. OotP has Fred and George Apparating all over 12 Grimmauld Place. HBP is the book where Harry has lessons in Apparating/Disapparaing. Hermione is the only one who gets a licence. The quote you seem to be seeking is in COS, on page 245 of my edition, in the last chapter, Dobby's reward. In the Horcruxes chapter of HBP, Dumbledore also reiterates what he says about choices in his discussion with Harry about the prophecy. Dumbledore pointed out that it wasn't the prophecy which dictated Harry's future, but Voldemort's belief in what he heard of the prophecy. That Harry could still choose what he wanted to do about Voldemort. And that the ability to choose is all the difference between 'being dragged into the arena to face a battle to the death and walking into the arena with your head held high'. (p.479 HBP B.E) After the end of HBP the only time Dumbledore talks to Harry is at Kings Cross station and lastly from his portrait, after the destruction of Voldemort. -------------------- Check out HP Book Club 5 HBP edition. |
