THE RUFUS SCRIMGEOUR REGIME Over the series Fudge has been in control, changing from someone well disposed to Harry to the hostile prosecutor at Harry's trial who during the following year would rubber stamp Umbridge's many Educational Decrees. After Voldmort revealed himself in the Ministry of Magic, the Daily Prophet would suddenly change its tune and Fudge would be run out of offce. In the first chapter of HBP Fudge's position all along is made clear during a series of conversations remembered by the British Prime Minister. Fudge also introduces his successor, Rufus Scrimgeor. Do you consider that over the course of Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince, Rufus Scrimgeor is a more effective and understanding administrator of the Wizarding World than what Fudge was? Please let us know what you think. Why does Scrimgeor want to corner an unwilling Harry in conversations about what he could do for the Wizarding World? Do you think that Scrimgeor did enough to combat Voldemort? Or was his efforts mere window dressing as Harry seems to think? What else could Scrimgeor have done to protect the Wizarding World from Voldemort? Should Stan Shunpike have been put into Azkaban for boasting about his Death Eater connections? Should the scenes at the beginning of HBP, involving the British Prime Minister, Fudge and Scrimgeor, be shown in the film? -------------------- Check out Book Number 5 POA edition. |
