I think the adult actors/actresses (teachers, parents, ministry officials, DEs) will stay to the end. Since their roles are relatively small compared to the roles of the Trio, they won't necessarily have to give up other projects to work on the last two films. Out of the three leads, it looks like only Emma Watson hasn't committed to the remaining films. If she does return, fine. If she doesn't, that's fine too. She should feel free to pursue what interests her the most. At this point the HP franchise has grown to the extent that I doubt if even a change in one or more of the three leads will put a significant dent in it. (I really wouldn't mind either way. My favorite TV shows have always been plot-driven, not character-driven, and have undergone multiple cast changes--successfully.) Although it's unlikely to happen, I wouldn't mind a change in the role of Dumbledore. Michael Gambon just can't seem to project the quiet strength and dignity of DD--which Richard Harris portrayed perfectly.

I think Dan will continue as Harry till the 7th one...I read somewhere that he has signed the agreement with WB for the last two films..
It is Emma , who hasn't signed for the other parts..I hope she carries on as Hermione.. -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I just read in some news arcticles that the actress emma watson does not want to film the 6th and 7th movies. It was said she doesnt want to be known as the girl from harry potter, frankly if she doesnt sign to do the films, i think it will do her image alot more harm then good. It would almost ruin the series having one of the main charecter's actoress changed. According to Rupert "Daniel [Radcliffe] and I are distant from her now. We don't text or talk to her when we are not filming." I think maybe her fame is getting to her and she's getting a little big headed like 4.5 mill is what she's being offered! i dont know about you but id do alot to get that much money. I really do hope she returns though to be honest, like i said before i just dont think the series will be the same, or as good for that matter, if she backs out of her role. It'd be selfish of her to potentially screw up the whole series and its way to late to try and get rid of being known as that girl from harry potter, she's been around too long she will always be known for her role in the series. If she thinks she can shed that image she's wrong, she can tarnish it by backing out then being remembered as that girl who ruined the series or as portraying the great hermione granger. It should be interesting to see how this all sorts out.
As for Rupert and Dan i read too that they both have signed on to continue the series throught, excellent choice on their part IMO. This post has been edited by theEndisNear: Mar 21 2007, 01:55 PM |

I can't imagine anyone being replace, even Michael Gabon. I'm not a fan of his, but I've kind of gotten used to seeing him as DD now.

I read recently (and please please please forgive me if I'm wrong) but that Emma Watson had decided to stay on for the last two movies of the series. The article I read did the math to show that she'd be twenty around production time for the final movie (which is why I remember it) www.tmz.com is where the article is - just search for Emma Watson. I can't see Daniel Radcliffe or Rupert Grint leaving the series at this point in time (I hope). Personally, I think changing any of the characters - outside of the minor ones - would end up ruining the effect of the movie. We've all grown to love the characters on the screen over the past five movies (with an exception to Dd, since he was only able to film the first two) and it would be a travesty to see these characters changed around.

WB did now confirm that Emma, Rupert, and Dan will be finishing the series with HBP and DH. As for the adult actors, I'm sure they will stay until the end--especially the main ones such as Snape, the Malfoys, etc.

I agree about Richard Harris. He is missed. A great actor. Michael just needs to tone it down a bit.

I hope they all stay for the remaining films. I don't think this will be a problem, provided there are not any more unfortunate circumstances (death, illness, etc.)
Even if some of the actors were replaced, I don't think it would destroy the movies. Most of the general audience probably wouldn't even notice the change. That having been said, I'm thrilled that at least the trio have decided to go the distance. I am a little surprised they got Harris to play Dumbledore in the first place as he was obviously older and weaker than the part required, especially one that would continue for about 10 years! |

Although I don't care for the new DD (AT ALL) I think all of the other casts do a wonderful job. Daniel was a perfect Harry as well as the actors as Hermiony and Ron. I applaud them! I reckon that they will all do all of the movies all the way through! Why wouldn't they? I think that if one of the main characters is changed, the movie will be ruined. I know that throughout the whole movie, I would be comparing the two actors and wondering why the first one quit!

Some many people(including me) would kill to be in her position. She is being selfish if she decides to leave. If she wasn't wanting to see through all seven movies(I'm sure they knew there would be seven when beging the first) sh shouldn't have tryed out at all. I'll say it agian: She is lucky and blessed to get to play such a great role. If she decides to not do the films, she will cause outrage and hurt her career. Honestly, I think she's a nutter if she doesn't finish. She gets to be up close and personal with Daniel and Rupert. It sounds as if she doesn't know who lucky she truly is. So there! *edited to fix quote tags - Mr. McG, LL Mod This post has been edited by Seven of Nine: Apr 8 2007, 09:47 PM |
