is it ok to post my interpretation of Snape? I was commissioned to draw this recently. and funny enough we both share the same views of how he should be depicted, i don't completely agree with the phoenix, but on the whole. i do believe Snape has a heart. even if its under layer upon layer of dark cloud. and he wouldn't show it to just anyone. i do think he has a selfish streak tho.

Whoa! That is an excellent image. Showing his patronus as a powerful Phoenix gives contrast to the dark side of the character that we've seen so far. I love the way he's staring back out the picture as if to say 'What are you looking at?' - Its so him.
I really like the crosshatching effect of his cloak against the fluidity of the phoenix, which is wonderfully rendered. The rough and the smooth, the dark and the light. I feel this captures the contradictory essence of the character. I can't wait to see more of your work when Galleries are back up

*gasp* Snoggerific your artwork of my master is truly spectacular. He look sin his element - dark and broody but magnificantly powerful and in command
  I love it!!!!Snape's patronus a phoenix..interesting theory...this is not the right thread to discuss this I know, but I am unable to find one that might be coz all the search engines seem to be offline - but what do you think his boggart would be? and to Hagiographer13 - That picture is really beautiful. You've captured a side of Severus that no doubt hides underneath his cloak of darkness, his human emotinal side. Awesome artwork  Oh, and Snoggerific - that charming little pryaer in your sig - I'm still laughing - love it!!!

Snape's DM -- thanks for the compliment, but my artistic skills are strictly of the photo-manipulation variety! This image of Snape is by FAGallery artist anni. If you check out her album you'll see that Snape is a favourite subject of hers.
Once our FanArt Gallery is back up for uploading new images, I hope Snoggerific will post that amazing image of Snape and the phoenix. Simply spectacular!

Such a great picture from anni. It's really poignant and she's captured the wry smile which goes so well with the text. I love how the text has that newspaper cut-out effect. Clever. |
