Severus Snape, where do you think he ended up after he was murdered? Did his actions following the murder of Lily and James redeem him? Do you think he entered into his own paradise where he and Lily were together? It would be really interesting to find out from JKR what she thinks happened to him, but in the meantime what do you guys think?

I personally like to think he redeemed himself and was in a happy place where he is accepted by Lily, James, Sirius and Lupin! And that it doesn't matter that he isn't 'together' with Lily like James is, he's included like I think he wanted to be.

Note for mods please move this or merge it if there's already a topic on this thankyou!

I believe Severus is with Lily, James, Sirius and Remus and that all are friends together. They will all know of the pivotal role Severus played in the defeat of Voldemort and will know of his seventeen years of dedication to protecting Harry and destroying the Dark Lord. He will, as you suggest, be accepted as one of them, which is what he always wanted. The feeling of belonging will be of utmost importance to him.
I believe that he will now be on friendly terms with James - I believe that, long before he died, although he never stopped loving Lily, he matured enough to accept that her choice of husband was James. He will be happy now simply to be a dear and trusted friend of Lily and James.
Thank you for a very interesting topic. read.gif

I also think that Snape would be accepted by James, Lily and co. Although would he want to be friends with James? ponder.gif Because he helped Harry because of his love for Lily... but I think he'd be able to talk to her again. And perhaps tolerate James, if only for Lily's sake. But I think he'd be happy, because of the good he's done.

As far as I can see, Snape went to his death hating James Potter, and also (impliedly) James's friends Sirius and Remus. I therefore suspect that Snape's idea of 'heaven' would be No Potter Anywhere Around! Afterlife Lily and James may have thanked him for saving Harry, but I cannot see Snape being gracious enough to accept their thanks.

I have no idea on this front, for I am not a Christian. I do truley hope however, that he is happy wherever he is... he deserves it. But I can't see him being happy because that would (by default) make James unhappy, and yes James is an "Arrogant Toerag" but he isn't cruel. I don't think he will ever be happy because of his unrequited love...

Goodness, I have gone EMO! hehe

Well wherever Severus is,I hope that he's made up with the marauders and potters.
It would be great to see them as happy friends.

*points upward*
That guy went up there. Snape was to great a person to end up anywhere less, after everything he went through he was still able to keep his good heart and good judgment.

I to believe that severus is with lilly and the maruaders beyond the veil, together as friends. I believe that when james and sirius met up with snape again they made amends by first thanking snape for what he did for harry and then asking for his forgiveness for the way they treated him at school. Sirius and James were bullies and should be ashamed of what they did to snape and I'd like to see lilly show remorse to snape for walking out on him as a friend. Especially since they had been friends for so long. I believe that DD is with them to giving snape a huge pat on the back and a big thank you for being such a true and loyal friend.

The afterlife to a mere mortal such as myself is a very difficult topic to put into comprehensible words. Although, in my heart I would have liked Severus to have come somewhere in the middle and reconciled with the Potters, Lupin and Sirius, I don't see that happening, although at most, I would like him to at least meet with Lily. I believe that by his actions, he truly redeemed himself, and redemption is a truly difficult act, and something that one can only venture to accomplish if you are willing to do so. So, I see Severus hanging in the Headmaster's office, awaiting Albus Severus, James and Lily for the next great adventure!

Snape was a mean and nasty person... but he stayed true to his love for Lily, and this is what redeemed him.

I think Snape deserved happiness in the afterlife... I like to think Lily was the first one he met. Then he reconciled with James and the others. I wish Jo had written about Snape's encounter with Lily and Dumbledore. I think all of them cried a lot... with joy.
