I'm not sure if I posted this in the right place, I hope so?
But I was thinking it would be fun to read what was your reaction to some of most shocking twists in the HP series! So now everyone is going to tell what they thought in HBP when.... 1. Snape killed Dumbledore. ?!?!?! TILT. I just remember the complete and utter disbelief. I had been crying since DD's 'I'm not scared' line (I was absolutely certain he would die in the end) but when Snape came in and did the Avada Kedavra I stopped crying and my mind was compeletly blank. I had to read the line again: yes, it really was Snape and it was the AK and Dumbledore...... died? I still couldn't believe it and I said 'What the bloody hell---?' Then I started reading what happened next and when the horrible truth started to sink in I was crying more than I have ever cryied in my life. 2. In HBP when Trelawney said 'but then we were rudely interrupted by Severus Snape!' At this point I had to stop reading. I closed the book for a while and breathed deeply for a while. Not so much because of how shocking the information itself was but I knew that Harry was going to be absolutely...... well just bloody angry. Please tell me your experiences and if you can remember some more twists when you were like 'what?!', it would be nice to hear them. I'm too tired to come up with anymore than these two at the moment. -------------------- 'That which Voldemort does not value, he takes no trouble to comprehend. Of house-elves and children’s tales, of love, loyalty, and innocence, Voldemort knows and understands nothing. Nothing. That they all have a power beyond his own, a power beyond the reach of any magic, is a truth he has never grasped.'<3

I'm too tired to come up with anymore than these two at the moment. Those too where the moments where I stopped reading and my mouth just dropped open. I couldn't believe that DD still trusted Snape even though he knew it was his fault that James and Lily were dead. I can't believe he bought his "apology" and the fact that supposedly he really was sorry. And when Snape killed DD I was like "see, you shouldn't have trusted him?" I was more mad at him than sad, but then it hit me that he was really dead and I began to cry. -------------------- ![]() YES! GIVE IT TO HIM, IT'S OBVIOUS HE DESERVES IT!! thanks to kendra.dumbledore for the wonderful avatar and siggy! |

I'd have to say that were:
1. Quirrel being in the chamber with the Mirror of Erised, because I totally expected Snape to be there. 2. Voldemort sticking out of his head. I didn't know what Jo was able to write then. Nothing about her ability to just make me gasp. But she got me one more time... 3. Impostor Moody trying to kill Harry after that nightmare in the graveyard was over. Now I'm sort of expecting the unexpected, so after GoF Jo couldn't shock me anymore. Surpise me, thrill me, make me forget where I was, yes. But not shock me. Neither with Sirius' death nor with the way Dumbledore was killed by Snape. But I'll never say never. Maybe I'll receive my biggest shock with DH? I hope not. -------------------- One morning in mid-December, Hogwarts woke to find itself covered in several feet of snow. The lake froze solid and the Weasley twins were punished for bewitching several snowballs so that they followed Quirrel around, bouncing off the back of his turban. (PS, p.210)

When Cedric was killed, I had to read the passage a few times because I couldn’t believe it.
When Snape killed DD, not that DD died but that Snape did it. My shock lasted till the next morning when other here at work started say there had to be more to it, that it was a sting operation. |

Yeah Cedric's death was a shocker. Everything happened so quickly, it gives me chills when I think about it.
And the Quirrel-thing, I remember when I was reading it(maybe 8-9years old?) and I hold my breath before I turned the page('If it isn't Snape or Voldemort then who?')....... and almost screamed when I read who it was! And my sister looked at me like I'd lost it and asked what's wrong. Lol, was that really eight years ago? I still remember it -------------------- 'That which Voldemort does not value, he takes no trouble to comprehend. Snape killing Dumbledore was definitely the biggest shock I received while reading. I was just not expecting that! And when Trelawny let slip that it was Snape that told Voldemort about the prophecy I had to re read that passage several times to make sure I wasn't imagining things!

The scene in the cave when Dumbledore drank the potion was really creepy. I thought 'wow, now we are really far from Philosopher's Stone!' But I can't say that I've cried and become "shocked". I think "surprised" is a better word. It's only a book, after all; real life is much more shocking.

Sirius death. I was like "What the... OMG... but... I mean... why... OMG... what the...?"
I just couldn't believe JKR killed him. I was sure he'd come back in HBP, or at least send a message to Harry through the two-way mirror. Then when DD died, I was really in shock. Not because it was Snape who killed him - I was sure he had a reason - but because JKR killed again the adult Harry loved the most... How cruel is that? -------------------- [Sorry for my english, it's not my mother tongue]
