Getting Fitted for New Dress Robes![]() Posts: 43 Joined: 8:50am August 8, 2009 |
I just finished rereading the section with Slughorn and the Horcruxes when I came across this thread. I believe Slughorn is the perfect representation of a Slytherin. Remember what the hat was telling Harry in SS? He was ambitious and would fit in Slytherin well. Slughorn is one of the most ambitious people in the book. He seeks admiration and well-placed friends so he will want for nothing and do little work. He also is below breaking some rules if they suit his purpose. Like many of the other Slytherins, they do not come out evil; just self-absorbed. It is unfortunate they have some of the worst people in their history to tarnish the reputation. Many of those who were evil attempted to reform their reputations in the very end. Redemption is key.
