The Featured FanArtist for November is

slytherinfiend

Combining an incredible eye for characterization and down-right scary depictions
of the darker side of the Potterverse, Slytherinfiend manages to tread that fine line between humour and pathos with elan.
Much of her work makes you want to smile, but it is a guilty, check-to-see-no-one-is-looking kind of smile. unsure.gif
But, whether laughing or crying, you cannot help to be swept up in her vision of the story.

Additional art by Slytherinfiend may be found at
DeviantART and on her Live Journal.

So take a walk on the dark side with Slytherinfiend--and you may find yourself a little enlightened! idea.gif

CONGRATULATIONS Slytherinfiend!! She is an amazing artist and she absolutely worths being here...

I absolutely love the way she depicts the human side of Tom Riddle, I absolutely adore the scenes that depict him enduring basic human qualities, like this picture of hers, which is my favorite... Poor, guy innocently?? sleeping after intense reading of how to rule the world... Wonder what he is dreaming about??

OMG! YOU ROCK SlytherinFiend. I totaaly love your icon! You did it yourself right? I wish I could have art skills like you

When I think of it, its like a new adventure waiting to be explored. Everything that humankind discovers or tries to figure out leaves nothing for the IMAGINATION because there are FACTS to prove you right or wrong. But the afterlife makes you wonder: what next?

Here is that extremely interesting image Ioli mentioned --

Here in the FanArt Gallery

It is intriguing to try and speculate about the young Tom Riddle and try to figure out where he went so badly wrong. As we've seen with DH/Young Dumbledore, the conceit of youth can be an intoxicant that is hard to refuse. ponder.gif

One of the most tragic moments in Deathly Hallows is when Kreacher recounts what happened in the horcrux cave with Regulus Black. Slytherinfiend captures the utter pathos of that image perfectly!

I agree, jamiedanser, that is an amazing image of Tom and Ginny. The creepy thing is that you know he is just coveting her death as a means to return to life and not for any other reason. sad.gif

The one of Regulus being dragged down by the inferi in the Cave is really chilling. You can imagine the look on Kreacher's face. cry.gif

I particularly like this one of the Marauders experimenting with the Marauders Map.

Marauding Marauders

Also this one is quite humorous. lol.gif Excellent. Harry!

That one is so awesome, I used for an avatar! thumbup.gif

Again, the unknowable Dark Lord peeks out from behind a mask of haughty superiority. I really like the faux sepia tone she uses here, like an old Muggle photograph. Stunning work!

A recent addition to Slytherinfiend's album in the TLC FanArt Gallery is this striking image of the locket/horcrux, exacting it's special torture upon Ron --

Here in the FA Gallery

The cruel looks on Harry and Hermione's faces are chilling (especially Harry's evil smirk) and the red eyes and blood-red nails on Hermione are brilliant details! thumbup.gif

(I will admit--the first time I glanced at the image I thought--"Ooh, the Avengers!" lol.gif )

Wow! I like Slytherinfiend's style alot! The above image gives you a really dark impression and is very jumping! :scared: I like it alot! It is very scary to see Hermione with her nails like that, since we know that Hermione is not a great one for cosmetics, and the suit on Harry is like a reflection upon the suit on Voldemort (in the fifth film at Kings Cross).

This image is the one of Voldemort and Nagini and is one of the best fan art pieces I have seen in the Galleries and General. Voldemort and Nagini look both striking and scary, and the blood red eyes make you cringe. Another great piece!! smile.gif

This last one is also a very expressed image. Harry's cold and painful expression is hard to look at with the knowledge that we know he is a hero, Ron's amazed and glinting eyes make the peice brilliant!

Great work clap2.gif

I really like this one. It's the first I've seen that really expresses just how cold Harry should be.

Another new addition to slytherinfiend's album, from Deathly Hallows, is a scene that I have not seen portrayed much in FanArt --

Here in the FanArt Gallery

This is Neville assuring Harry (as the latter leaves to meet his destiny at the hands of Lord Voldemort) that they will "keep fighting." The use of the contrasting colours is quite striking, and helps to give a sense of urgency to the scene. cry.gif

I was in love with this image the moment I saw it. The expression on Harry's face just pulls at my heartstrings! cry.gif The placement of the dead student on the ground between them, with his wand useless beside him, is an incredible thing and just gives me chills. It foreshadows Harry's believed fate, and the cost of fighting for the right. Gets me every time!

Awesome awesome work! clap.gif

Happy Valentine's Day! heart.gif Here is a sweetly romantic vision of Bill and Fleur, post HBP, by the incomparable slytherinfiend --

Here in the FanArt Gallery

The piece is called "In Her Light" and I am amazed at how the glow surrounds them, and seems to lift them ethereally. I am brought to mind of the line in DH about how Fleur's beauty seemed to make everyone around her (at the wedding) beautiful as well. *sigh* cry.gif

Leave it to the fantabulous Slytherinfiend to be one of the first off the mark to give us an AMAZING image of young Tom Riddle from the HBP teaser trailer --

Here in the FanArt Gallery

I think Hero Fiennes-Tiffin looks the PERFECT young Tom, and Slytherinfiend has perfectly captured that look of defiance and arrogance that will go far towards making him into Voldemort. Whoa!
