How do you practice occlumancy? I thought it was like apparating, your either could, or you couldn't (or hated it). For example Harry can apparate but dislike the sensation and was a terrible occlumens...

...meh I suspect I am wrong however!

Here is what Professor Snape does in his spare time:

10. Practices the mombo to his Ricky Martin tapes.

9. Draws magna pictures of Lilly.

8. Has "Death-Eater Kareoke" night every Wednesday.

7. Makes Wormtail prank call the MOM saying he is Voldemort.

6. Plucks the hair from his abnormally large nose.

5. Writes "Mrs. Lilly Snape" in invisible ink on the Prefects' bathroom stalls.

4. Watches old TV episodes of "Mission Impossible".

3. Reads harlequin romance novels with Madame Pince.

2. Dresses up in Neville's grandmother's clothes and perfects his catwalk.

1. Steals really cool stuff from Dumbledore's office!

Ha ha. Some of these answers are making me giggle uncontroalably. biggrin.gif

Like most people I picture Snape sitting at home, his abnormally large nose buried in a book. He is the type of person with an interest learning and knowlage, and would often read all sorts of books on magic. As for reading anything non-magic oriented/literature I don't see that as something Snape would do.

Hmmm. I think that it is more a matter of having a natural ability (or lack of, in Harry's case) , which makes it easier to be a good occlumens. Kind of like how Harry had a natural talent for overcoming the Imperius Curse.
As for the question of practicing Occlumensy, I imagine it is something similar to meditation. In OotP Snape tells Harry to clear his mind before he goes to sleep. So I always assumed Occlumencey is just that, a sort of mastering of your thoughts, much like meditation, where you are focusing on one thing. But in this case, you would be focusing on suppressing the thoughts, instead of expressing them.
If that makes any sense. At all. lol.

Or perhaps I am wrong (and giving this way to much thought)...

Snape is a complete creeper. He plays Sims constantly, and has a Lily Sim, James Sim, and Severus Sim, and the only thing he ever does is make Lily hate James, and she marries Severus, and they live happily ever after in Sims land.

Plus, he is a MEAN DDR player.
