has anyone else read the best and the funniest crime novels in the world?
For those of you who don't know, Stephanie Plum is a half Italian half Hungarian Bounty Hunter from New Jersey. She has a crazy grandmother, trouble with men (well.. only two men really, the two sexiest characters in fiction) and is more than slightly incompetent at her job, yet she till gets the job done in the end. There are 10 books so far One for the Money Two for the Dough Three to get Deadly Four to Score High Five Hot Six Seven Up Hard Eight To the Nines Ten Big Ones anyway.. for those of you who have read it share your fave moments (mine usually include grandma Mazur, like in the first book where she shoots the roast chicken and she says "would you look at that, straight in the gumpy" or the really surprising moments where Morelli says some really tender things to stephanie and spends his days worrying she'll get herself shot, or anything involving Ranger (come on, I bet any female that's read these entertains fantasies about a ranger like character crossing thier path)) and for those of you that haven't read it... what are you waiting for? This really is quality crime fiction crossed with sex and the city, cept it's Jersey. cheers -------------------- ![]() I count the days to find what was left behind Only these names I clutch will lead me to my home Somhehow this river marks a wrinkle hand in mine and every day they part the water into two Mothers and feathers start to drown the living proof I can't remember these lakes of blood Wraped in a blanket there sweats a cut |

Yay!! My favorite series!! The way Stephanie Plum interacts with Joe Morelli is comedy gold, and I absolutely love it! (Though I have to admit I haven't read books 8, 9, or 10 yet.)
One of my many favorite scenes in Janet Evanovich's series is when Stephanie throws Joe Morelli out of her car in his birthday suit and drives off. He screams after her that he can't be left outside like this. She comes back--and throws him his gun, THEN drives off! Another scene is in "One For The Money". Stephanie runs Joe over, then gets out and asks "Are you hurt?". Joe says "You broke my leg!". "Good," she replies, then drives off again. Poor Joe. He has very bad credit with Steph! Oh, and Long Live Rex The Hamster! -------------------- ". . . if that which thou seekest thou findest not within thee, thou wilt never find it without thee."

Any scene with Grandma Mazur is worth the price of the book. That woman is awesome! Those books got me through bedrest during my last pregnancy.

I'm giggling just thinking about it now. I'm reading book 8 at the moment, the blurb says "Her relationship with vice cop Joe Morelli is so complicated that it's now over and she has asked Ranger, bounty hunter extraodinaire, to help bring in an FTA one too many times and Ranger's ready to collect his reward" *giggles*
I love in books 7 when Grandma Mazur is talking about some man she's been dating and she like " 'only not all his parts work all that well, I tried everything I know but I couldn't get it work. Got very tired'. A piece of chicken fell out of my father's mouth and my mother made the sign of the cross and said 'why me?' " I think it's in the same book that Valerie comes home and decides she wants to be a lesbian. I really love the moments when Stephanie says things to Morelli like "You worry about me?" and he says "No, I worry that it's quite likely that some day you'll be the mother of my children" It's so sweet yet hilarious at the same time. I love Lula as well "are we gonna kick some ###, i'm in a real kicking ### mood" and then they get cheese puffs thrown at them and the guy they're meant to capture still escapes. Plus the thing with the cars.. omg these series are the best. I could go on, but I'll let someone else say something. -------------------- ![]() I count the days to find what was left behind Only these names I clutch will lead me to my home Somhehow this river marks a wrinkle hand in mine and every day they part the water into two Mothers and feathers start to drown the living proof I can't remember these lakes of blood Wraped in a blanket there sweats a cut |

Ranger!! haha.. I was reading the funniest Range passage yesterday. Something about him coming into her apartment at 2 am, and he hearing the door unlock and the security chain come off and she's like "I know only one man who can do that" anyway, she thinks he's there to collect his reward cos he drops his gun belt to the floor and then starts talking bollocks about how it's not that she doesn't want him to collect the reward it's just that she didn't think it was going to be tonight, and she's quite prepared and..
"I make you nervous?" "yes" comic genius! Anyway, i was reading this bit last night where she tried to apprehend some guy, and ended up rolling around his floor with him and got pepperoni in her hair, which Ranger had to pull out.. classic Stephanie cheers -------------------- ![]() I count the days to find what was left behind Only these names I clutch will lead me to my home Somhehow this river marks a wrinkle hand in mine and every day they part the water into two Mothers and feathers start to drown the living proof I can't remember these lakes of blood Wraped in a blanket there sweats a cut |

I love love love love love Ranger. I went out and bough Bulgari green tea shower gel after the last book just to know what he smells like. LOL.
To The Nines is my favorite of the series so far. I have never laughed so hard while reading a book. The bits with Lula and her meat diet and the dogs chasing her down the street and trying to get a whole chicken on board the plane with her...rotf!!!!! |

I haven't read that yet.. I'm still on eight, but sounds good.
I love the bit in eight where Steph gets attacked by the geese, and gets zapped by her own stun gun. Though, the tarantulas scared the crap out of me. Green Tea shower gel? That's sounds yummy.. My mom turned me onto this series and I can't tell you how funny I think it is! I've only read the first three so far and can't wait to read the rest!
