I suggest that you go to a local home improvement or hardware store that carries wood stain products and look at the wood hues they have available. I'm really excited, the tree I took the branch from is one my mam bought for charity(it was only a twig at the time) when she was pregnant with me, so it's always been "my" tree, but it' actually a silver birch and birch is the tree that corresponds to my birth date based on the wand information Jo has on her website here --------------------
