I've always liked the names of the Black family and I think they're relevant to the characters, if not the plot. We have Sirius which is part of Canis Major (Great Dog) and accompanies Orion (Sirius's father's name). We have Bellatrix which is also known as the Amazon Star, as a female warrior it suits Bellatrix Black perfectly. Regulas is in the constellation of Leo (lion/Gryffindor) which fits the bravery Regulas showed amd Sirius and Regulas's mother was Walburga, St Walburga was, among other things, the patron saint of mad dogs. Have to love JKR's attention to detail.
