Underage Magic in the Wizarding World, Just how did that trace work?

Another burning question (yes I'm full of them and don't know which burns most): when Voldemort killed his father and grandparents, he was 16. So the ministry should have known that an underaged wizard, named Tom M. Riddle, performed the AK curse in the Riddles' mansion. How come they did not know???

I answered your question above: you posted as I was editing smile.gif . They accepted that the magic was performed by Morfin. There was no need to look for anyone else: let's say for a moment that the MoM did ask Morfin during their investigation as to another wizard being present; Morfin wouldn't be able to tell them anything. So, there was really no way for the MoM to know who murdered the Riddles.

Maggieann; Tom was 16 at the time of the Riddle murders.

Sorry I missed that the first time "roonwit", it's actually an original idea, that sounds quite more acceptable to a perfectionist like me. I know, I was splitting hair with this, but I can find peace with it now. closedeyes.gif
