Another burning question (yes I'm full of them and don't know which burns most): when Voldemort killed his father and grandparents, he was 16. So the ministry should have known that an underaged wizard, named Tom M. Riddle, performed the AK curse in the Riddles' mansion. How come they did not know???

for your example:

well I think that in the ministry it is only shown the place where that magic is happend not the name of the wizard who did it, so in the village(town whatever it was) it was only said that there had been AK curse and the only wizard in that place was Marvolo Gaunt and he had already attacked muggles so it was easy to gueas who did it.
