Where did Voldemort go wrong?
When Voldy placed his trust in snape, he was sure that snape was the one to belive. But, while at the ministry, voldy never put 2 and 2 together. how could the order have known that harry and the DA needed their help? Snape.
In the end, snape was trying to help Dumbeldor, and praying that voldy could not do the math. snape.gif
Mistake no. 2 = voldemort got to caught up in the moment. In his mad parade to get rid of harry, he forgot how he needed to GET OUT. He, instead of leaving eekout.gif , decided to tourture harry and dumbeldor as much as possible. He (voldy) was brillant, but his tactics were terrible. If he had kept his head out of the clouds, he was way to caught up in the moment. starwars.gif
Any thing else?

As far as i remember Voldemort didn't know Dumbledore was in the ministry when he arrived.
He saw Harry wide open after he had just tried the cruciatus curse on Bellatrix.
I'm sure when he appears Bellatrix tries to warn Voldemort but he doesn't listen.

'Master, you should know -'
'Be quiet Bella,' said Voldemort dangerously. 'I shall deal with you in a moment. Do you think I have entered the Ministry of Magic to hear your snivelling apologies?'
'But master - he is here- he is below-'
Voldemort paid no attention.
'I have nothing more to say to you, Potter,' he said quietly. 'You have irked me too often, for too long. AVADA KEDAVRA!'

Harry had not even opened his mouth to resist; his mind was blank, his wand pointing uselessly at the floor.
But the headless golden statue of the wizard in the fountain had sprung alive, leaping from its plinth to land with a crash on the floor between Harry and Voldemort.
The spell merely glanced off the chest as the statue flung out it's arms to protect Harry.

'What -?' cried Voldemort, staring around. And then he breathed, 'Dumbledore!'

Voldemort had no idea that Dumbledore was there.

I like that! Even amongst the DE's there is a sense of "loyalty" in Bella trying to help Voldemort but he just won't hear it. Like what she says (Even if it IS Bella) isn't important because he's there already to take control of the situation. He likes the theatrics. He doesn't kill Harry right away in CoS or in OotP, he likes to talk. Or rather, he likes to hear himself talk and hear [what he thinks is] his own "brilliance." Funny, he takes his sweet time in some moments and acts haste in others but never at the right times.

After all, to the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.
