My Hobbit name is Fosco Knotwise of Michel Delving
My Elvish name is Maglor Ancalimë

I am wondering why my Hobbit name is so curious, and what is the significance.

Dwarves names? No chance! I probably couldn't have told you them even if I'd read a list five minutes before. blush.gif

My hobbit name is Primula Hardbottle. *snort* Isn't Primula a type of cheese?

Elven name: Ireth Elanessë. I think I like that one better. smile.gif

yay! Name generators... always so much fun!

If I were a hobbit, I would be Belba Boffin of Whitfurrows

If I were an elf, I would be Nellas Mithrandír... does that mean I'm related to Gandalf?

If you are then I am too - my elvish name is Idril Mithrandír. No idea why!
My hobbit name is far less interesting, Daisy Boffin of Whitfurrows!

As for the dwarves, I really should know this, I only just read it to my daughter!
Hmmm:
Thorin Oakenshield, Balin (my favourite), Dwalin, Dori, Nori, Ori, Oin, Gloin, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Fili and Kili. I can't do the wierd accent type things, sorry!
Cristyn

Edited to add:
Well, trying out the other link made my husband laugh: my hobbit name was Araminta Muddyfoot! Considering I am famous for never wearing shoes (I even kick them off at formal occasions and wander round barefoot!) that's very appropriate.

Perenelle,
The name Primula is a name of a beautiful flower. I note that the hobbits have a habit(ha ha--note the rhyme?) of choosing flower names for their daughters--Daisy, Rose(Rosie). Hope that makes you feel better; I really doubt it's the name of a cheese. wink.gif
How I got the name of Dimple, however, I don't know--unless it's because I had a little indentaion on my chin when I was little--er--littler.

My Hobbit name is Rosie-Posie Proudneck of Tuckborough. Hmm, not sure I like it very much... Everyone else here seems to have way cooler Hobbit names than that... tongue.gif

My Elvish name, however, is Luthien Tinuviel (totally serious - that's what it says!) so I can't really complain about that one! smile.gif

ETA - I tried the other site and it made me laugh. Apparently I am a "Happy Dwarf"... I also got a laugh out of my orkish name - it's Baggash the Maimer. bruce.gif My Hobbit name is slightly better there - Donnamira Brandybuck of Buckland. I think I could be a Brandybuck... I'm totally keeping Luthien Tinuviel though, there's no beating that. biggrin.gif

Not having much luck with the name thing. According to the first link, I am Iris Peatfingers. I despise irises, and what the heck is a 'peatfinger'?! Not much better with the second link, as it reveals I am a Middle Earth "Furry footed Stone troll"...how flattering is that? I think I'll stick with my real name dry.gif .

I was a sad huorn - which I thought was a little off - but I think it's better than some of the options!
