 Umbridge gets my vote. Do I need to explain?She is a power- hungry, sadistic, incompepent, twisted control- freak. I must admit she made me laugh a lot throughout the book. There would be no Ootp without her...

In my mind, there's no doubt as to who's the most despicable here. Umbridge's character is perhaps the most vivid in the whole series; everytime she appears, you just cringe. Her method of punishment is ridiculous; everytime I read about Harry's first detention with her, I get just feel Harry's frustration at her injustice.
The other thing I find very frustrating is that she's giving/getting her support to/from someone who is also deluded and in a position of power, making her power that much more dangerous. If I had to pick a second, it would be Fudge; the lengths he goes to discredit DD is also ridiculous, and he is essentially the source of the Umbridge problem. -------------------- "Tell me why, why must we fight?

I voted for both Umbridge and Fudge.
Umbridge: for being the worst possible teacher someone can imagine. She is so cruel and abusive towards the kids. Fudge: because he misused his power as prominent figure, many people were brought into danger -------------------- The most endearing lianas can strangle the strongest tree

umbridge and fudge are obvious. but don't forget bella- this is when she kills sirius and taunts neville. harry almost kills her, and he didn't try to kill anyone else. bella killed sirius, but umbridge and fudge (though i completley agree, are terrible) didn't directly kill anyone (though umbridge sent harry those dementors which put many muggles at risk, and fudge caused deaths by his indifference...)

I voted for Umbridge, for all the truly nasty, evil, vicious things she did to students at Hogwarts. Rosssinant described her very well: "a power-hungry, sadistic, incompetent, twisted control-freak."
I actually forgot that I could vote for more than one character! My second choice would be Bella. She is more overtly vicious than Voldemort in this book. She not only kills Sirius, but she taunts Neville about what she and others did to his parents.

they were both equally despicable!!! umbridge cause she was just horrible about EVERYTHING!!! fudge was despicable for saying harry was a liar -------------------- |

I voted for three: Dolores Umbridge; Bellatrix Lestrange; and Lord Voldemort.
Umbridge is nasty for all her crimes against Muggle borns and how nasty she is to students while she was DADA teacher. Her stupid million rules and her cruel, vile punishment detentions of "I must not tell lies." Bellatrix Lestrange who is one extremely nasty piece of work. She tortured Neville's parents and Hermione. She is extremely pro-pure blood and very anti-Muggle borns. Voldemort which is obvious. |

1. Lord Voldemort. Well, if you don't know why he's despicable you might wnat to go back and read the series again.
2. Bellatrix Lestrange. I love Sirius. He was her freaking cousin and she still pushed him through The Veil! 3. Dolores Umbridge. Let's see. Her quill, kicking out Trelawney, her hatred toward so called "Half-Breeds" which I prefer to call Hybrids, her people going after Minerva McGonagal, her medieval methods, not valuing others opinions especially of those younger than her, setting dementors on Harry, and the fact that her regime reminded me a lot of my school system. 4. Cornelius Fudge. Calling Harry a liar, taking bribes, and trying to expel him. 5. Marietta Edgecombe for ratting out the D.A. and her friend. A true hight of dishonor. Though I do have some sympathy for because I imagine that it must have been hard with her mother being so pro-Ministry anti-Harry. -------------------- ZAP! You've been Snaped!

Delores Umbridge is the most despicable Character in the entire series. She abused Harry and other Students and was just horrible. The detention scenes with Harry made me cringe and grab my hand in pain. I was so hoping she'd die a slow and painful death in Deathly Hallows. I so wanted to see her get a dose of her own medicine.
