US6 (4.00 mm) knitting needles
H/8 (5.00 mm) crochet hook

Instructions
CO 30 with main color (MC).
Row 1: P across.
Row 2: K across.
Row 3: P14, K2, P14.
Row 4: K12, P6, K12.
Row 5: P10, K10, P10.
Row 6: K8, P14, K8.
Row 7: P6, K18, P6.
Row 8: K4, P9, K4, P9, K4.
Row 9: P2, K9, P3, K2, P3, K9, P2.
Row 10: K2, P7, K3, P6, K3, P7, K2.
Row 11: P2, K7, P1, K10, P1, K7, P2.
Row 12: K4, P5, K1, P10, K1, P5, K4.
Row 13: P6, K3, P1, K10, P1, K3, P6.

Use contrasting color (CC) and H/8 (5.00 mm) crochet hook.
Insert hook in any st and join with a sl st, ch 1, sc in same st and in each st around to corner, (3 sc) in corner around to end, sl st in first sc.
Sc in each sc around.
Sl into next st *CH 4, skip the next 3 st and sc into the 4th st, sc into the 5th st.
Repeat from * around.
Sl into the next st, *make 6 dc in the next ch 4 space, sl into the next st, sl in the next st.
Repeat from * around.
Finish off.
Weave in ends.
