I'm currently in the process of writing a book about a powerful young wizard by the name of Brock Thomas, who goes with his friends, to be trained with 24 of the other most powerful young wizards in the region, they train with a group called the Wizard Council, but anyways, I can't think of a title to save my life. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

When I pick a title, I try to find a word that encompasses the feel of the writing, instead of what happens. I would think of one word that sums up the book (like, "debauchery" or some-such), and then thesaurus it until you find something that fits. (:

Well, what's the main focus of the story? Is there some magical artifact that is central to it? If so, the name of the artifact could be it. Or is there a quest of some sort? You could use the name of the quest.
You could also take your main characters name and put whatever task, artifact, etc. in the title (Harry Potter titles are a perfect example of this).
I hope this gave you some ideas. Good luck with your story!

I recently came across the same dilemma. At first, my book (since I am planning on and already started the rest of the series) was similar in title to the HP books, as the person before me suggested. So-and-so and the whatever-thing. I abandoned that simply because of the HP books and how similar it sounded in my head. I read so much I am often afraid I may inadvertently steal someone's ideas.

So, I started with that format and dropped the main characters name and the 'and'. Instead of Charming Charlie and the Terra Mira, it's just the Terra Mira.

Honestly, with anything I've written that I was happy with, I never came up with a title I liked. When I started with a title and then built the book on it, the book sucked but the title was awesome! Keep tossing around ideas...you'll come up with something in the most unusual places wizard.gif
