dont know if there is another topic on this but (i think it was mentioned on potter cast) what do you think about the theorie that dumbledore was spying on harry using chocolate frog cards... there are reasons:
1. dumble dore didnt want the minestry to take him off the chocolate frog cards. 2. there al around the place, house elves leaved them scattered all over the common room. 3. they are like potraits and can walk between cards so dumbledore could have one that card dumbledore can walk to and report to normal dumbledore. 4. dumbledore told harry, "i hav watched you more closely than you could imagine." -------------------- Hoplessly Inlove With Remus Lupin

Hmm....idk it would be cool but i think i would need more proof but it might work

Why would Dumbledore want to spy on Harry?

QUOTE(bibs the S.P.E.W supporter @ Jul 6 2007, 06:40 AM) 4. dumbledore told harry, "i hav watched you more closely than you could imagine." Dumbledore (or anyone) watching Harry after he joins the wizarding world by means of the chocolate frog cards is fine, but where would Harry find the cards when he was at the Dursley's? After he joined Hogwart's, yes - but he wouldn't have access to them before he turned eleven. I would have thought the "I have watched you more closely than you could imagine" refered to Mrs. Figg. Otherwise, I agree that dumbledore probably uses the chocolate frog cards to check on his pupils, etc. -------------------- I'd give up chocolate, but I'm no quitter!

Nice theory, very observant! I suppose it's a possibility but IMO not a very likely one.

I think that is a brillant idea. I never thought of that. He could walk through them as a potrait as ron says in PS/SS on the train(i think) So he could acctually keep an eye on all the students/ teachers. All very possible. Good theory.

That's a very funny thought. However, I don't believe it. Chocolate Frog Cards are much too uncertain. What, if Harry never started to collect them? What, if he got 700 and looked at his Dumbledore only once in a year? And then - I don't think Frog!Dumbledore can visit Portrait!Dumbledore - they're different. Frog!Dumbledore can't speak, for one thing. And it would become quite crowded if some of the Frog!Dumbledores would gather in the Portrait.
Sorry, don't buy it. -------------------- ![]() Wanna hear my filks? You can find them all on my filk site! Proud to be the only PotterCast fan from Switzerland - see the PotterCast map! |

Sorry, don't believe it. Seems highly unlikely that Dumbledore is spying on his students via chocolate frog cards, I expect he has better things to do with his time and I think Dumbledore values people's privacy more than he would enjoy hearing teenagers gossip and rumours (which would be the majority of things he would pick up).
Also, Dumbledore's comment about not wanting to be taken off the chocolate frog cards is just there as humour - Dumbledore doesn't mind all his higher powers being thrown away as long as he can still be on children's confectionary cards. I don't think it was a serious comment, and we didn't hear it from Dumbledore himself either. -------------------- "But Dumbledore says he doesn't care what they do as long as they don't take him off the Chocolate Frog Cards"
