Hey everyone happy.gif

I was just rereading DHs, and I thought to myself, if I was ACTUALLY there, seated at the Ravenclaw table at Hogwarts lol, with the professors and other students, and the Order of the Phoenix, and everyone else who was there to fight the Battle of Hogwarts, would I have stayed to help fight too? I mean, would I be brave enough to stay there and possibly take on the likes of Bellatrix, the Carrows, Greyback, and even other DE's?

It's like, reading the books, I think it's easy to gloss over just exactly how dangerous, cruel, evil, and sadistic these people are. And then to actually SEE Voldemort. The white skin, and the red eyes with slits for pupils. In the end, I think I would have stayed and helped. I would have been censor.gif bricks and wetting my pants for sure lol. But I think if I had my friends there with me, I would have stood up and fought too smile.gif

So that is my question to you all. Take the time to REALLY consider how dangerous, and terrifying, and just crazy the Battle of Hogwarts was. Would you have stayed and helped to fight?

Truthfully, I think I would have stayed. Especially if people I loved and cared about were staying. If my friends/family were fighting, the answer would be definitely, because I wouldn't want to see them get hurt. If they weren't fighting, I still think I would have fought, because it's kind of like you're fighting for your, and your friends, family, and everybody around you's lives. Because if Voldemort took over, all the Muggleborns would probably be dead, and many others too. And if Voldemort didn't kill you, you'd live life with practically no freedom, and be taught the wrong things, like to torture others and look down upon Muggleborns and other creatures. I wouldn't want to live in a world like that, nor would I want anyone to live in a world like that, so I would definitely fight. I would have been EXTREMELY terrified, but I would have fought.

I probably would have stayed and threw a couple of curses at DEs but I would probably try to lay low and not draw attention to myself and help out whoever I see in trouble

When I think of it, its like a new adventure waiting to be explored. Everything that humankind discovers or tries to figure out leaves nothing for the IMAGINATION because there are FACTS to prove you right or wrong. But the afterlife makes you wonder: what next?

I think I would stay and fight, because I would be fighting for what I believed. I wouldn't want to see Voldemort and the Death Eater's take over. Although I woudn't necessarily like the idea of having to kill people, (although I guess in the magical world it's easier to stun people rather than kill than it is in the muggle world, so I could just do that. In fact I probably would), at the same time everyone is fighting for a better, happier world. You have to balance it all up - more people would be hurt under Voldemort than by fighting to save people from him. Or at least I hope so.

DarkShadows3 - I think I'd probably try not to be noticed too, so that I could fight without being fought... I could attack DEs without them going for me hopefully.

So yes, I think I would. With friends surrounding me, I think it would be easier. Also, I would feel so bad if I didn't fight whilst people I knew fought and died for a better world for us all to live in.

I would have stayed and fougth, when it's something this important, the final battle that would decide what kind of life I would live after, I would be able to live with myself knowing I didn't contribute..

That would probably be my strategy as well...

I would have stayed to fight. For my friends, my school and because I would have wanted to have a go at the Death Eaters who more than likely would have hurt or killed members of my own family or my friend's family.

If I would have been told I could not fight, I would have been like Colin Creevy and found a way to sneak into the battle. Probably wind up like poor Colin, too. But I would still want to fight. Huff flag.gif

I am thinking that my seventeen-year-old self would have stuck around, and fight with more...uh... will if I my friends stayed too. However, I think I wouldn't have been able to AK anyone, but then again, there's a big arsenal of charms, curses and hexes from where to choose. And I, like some other people here, would have been beyond scared. And I am not ruling out taking the Slytherin way and coming back to fight with more people.

Had I been one of those who came to Hogwarts to fight, I don't think I would have doubted it, that would have been my duty as an adult in the Wizarding World, but then again, don't think I have what it takes to kill a person.

I, too, would have stayed and fought Voldemort & the DE. My 17 yr old self would have fought for right over wrong any day. I have been a hot-head at times and Pansy Parkinson was lucky I wasn't there or I would have jinxed her for even suggesting they turn Harry over to Voldemort.

I would definately have stayed if I was of age - hopefully sat at the Gryffindor table Gryf flag.gif . If I was underaged, I am afraid I would be a mixture of Ginny (demanding to be allowed to stay behind) and Colin Creevey, sneaking back to fight even if I was underaged blush.gif

I think i would od stayed and fought. Because if you were in that situation, having to live in terror for over a year, watching people you love just die for no reason in front of you, i think i would of defo of stayed. and even if you did die, at least you died fighting for what was best biggrin.gif but it would of no doubt been terrifying though. Coz i mean most of the kids at hogwarts had never been in fights and suddenly your school's been intruded by a load of death eathers. and everything you've ever been taught is put to use. it must of been unreal. they were all so brave smile.gif
