What did you guess correctly about the books?, Which of your predictions did or didn't come true? |

Everybody has a theory, whether it be that James is Lupin (see Jo's site) or Cho Chang dying, or Sirius dying.
You had to have at least guessed somethign about the books correctly, right? What did you guess correctly about the books before they came out (4, 5, 6). I didn't nail very much about book 4, but I had a long list of people who I thought could get hurt or die, and Cedric was on it (mainly because he beat Harry the year before at quidditch  )I got Sirius as the person who was dying in book 5, and that the DADA professor would be no good. For book 6, I got that Dumbledore was going to die (which was amusing because everybody at Barnes and Noble that night thought I was crazy. And then they were like "oh... you're right. *sob*"). I also got the patronus thing from book four. Probably the biggest thing that I got correct was the soul splitting. I thought that Voldy had done something with his soul, perhaps split it, and lo and behold, he did. O_o So which of your theories were correct? Which were miles away? I've never even tried to guess things like, 'who's gonna die' or sometthing major like this. With those things I like to be surprised!
One thing that I recall is the OWLs results! I guessed right the trio's grades! I didn't guess anything right, I'm no good at that stuff! I didn't know DD was going to die until the moment it happened. (I knew he was getting weak, but I thought that was just to throw us off). Well, if you count guessing that Hermione and Ron will get together, then I got that right :wink:

I guessed about DD dying--it was so archetypal it had to happen (much to my chagrin).

i guessed it would be dd dying, without reading the books.
 (btw, since xmas day i've been reading and i'm nearly done gof, and soon on to books i have no scoobie about )i'm quite proud of that... --------------------  and the hogwarts triwizard airguitar champion is...  severus snape. |

Interesting topic!
 *edited to remove link to a website I guessed immidiately in chapter 2 that Draco's quest was to kill Dumbledore. Up until the Draco's Detour Chapter I had a vague thought it might be Harry instead, although I leaned towards Dumbledore. But then Narcissa tells Harry that Dumbledore won't allways be there, and since she knew what Draco was up to, that sealed it to me. Well, I kind of saw the Ginny and Harry thing coming before the release of HBP, and for a long time I couldn't figure out why that was, untill I reread the end of OOtP and about the strange look that Ron gives Harry when he asks Ginny to find a better boyfriend next time. hehe. So much for my inner eye, the clue was there all the time :wink:

I have a really hard time remembering whihc things I'v gotten right because I've read the books so many times. Often on the second or even third read I still don't remeber what happens (at least consciously) so I guess or I think oh last time I thought this was going to happen I wonder if it does. Then it ends up being true but I don't remeber if it was really something I thought the first time, or if it something I knew after reading the first time.
One thing I remember getting wrong though was I thought POA was going to be about Hagrid's time in Azkaban. I even thought that perhaps they wouldn't believe DD and the trio somehow would be involved in breaking him out. Seems kind of silly now. -------------------- Not-so-proud member of P.C.A.A.: acceptance is the first step to recovery.

I know I predicted Dumbledore would die in 5 but then I obviously was wrong so I then became about 95% sure it would happen in 6, so I got it on the second go. It was sad, but I still got it!
