No.Two reasons:
I wouldn't want to rip my soul.
Everyone has to die someday. We must accept it.

No.

Life is definetly not worth it.

Plus killing people is no good.

I think mortality is something everyone struggles with-to me Horcruxes are the supreme evil, forcing someone else to die in place of you is practically what it is, the complete opposite of what Harry does in DH. In the books, both Harry and Dumbledore were conflicted about the Hallows, a magic that suggests that with it you will be 'Master of Death' just like the Horcruxes do in a more evil form, but I think Harry made the right decision in getting rid of the Hallows, accepting death is something which is difficult, sure, but good, it gets rid of the fear that we have of death. Life's short-sure, but it's still life. It's still a good thing and I wouldn't want to waste that short time running around worring about death so much that I had to rip my soul into shreds and become a modern Voldemort.

hmm...I see where you're coming from. I guess it's like the whole idea Shakespeare had in his sonnets of having children=putting little replicas of yourself into the world, but I think the idea of a horcrux is not putting something exactly like yourself out there-but ripping yourself in two-putting your actual self out there, and I don't think horcruxes can ever be good, like children can. It's an interesting thought though.

thanks for your nice comment
firstly i should say i dont have a baby but i think it
is a part of the parent.
u can improve yourself and then teach your child
the best u got then ur child that is as a matter of fact
yourself continues them.
so finally i think the best method is what god created.
it's just some brief look we have on magic stuff,
i think in a long run that would fail
what do u think?

The first thing I said when I read this was no I wouldn,t make an Horcrux but if I look at it the way you do valleyofdreams I made an Horcrux already, my son. But it's the only kind I would make. I couldn't kill someone just to live longer. Like some of you said life is long enough and we must all die so one day I will and I don't want to change that. But having a child is leaving a little part of you behind, but I don't think it can be considered as an Horcrux if an Horcrux is ripping a part of your soul to put it in something else.

Of course in your life you can improve yourself but your children are not you, they don't make the same choices, and they don't think exacly the way you do, so I don't think it could be considered as an Horcrux

I would be tempted not really so i could live longer naturally but so i could have a full life, this would simply to prevent being killed by accident or murder. I would only do the killing bit if it was some type of mercy killing like snapes. That however is in disscussion as to whether that would qualify as murder so it might not be enough for a horocrux. If thats true then. NO!.

Ripping your soul IDK just seems like it would feel weird afterward.

i think having a complete soul which is intact is much better and whats the point of killing innocet people for immortality?only Voldemort can love it we are sane and simple people who accept death as just somethin that lurks behind you but when it comes you take it as the next great adventure just as Dumbledore Describes it

I definately wouldnt want to make a horcrux, imagine living with the guilt of murdering someone so that you could survive forever, but i find it strange when people say they wouldnt want to live forever. If someone offered to me that i could stay alive forever at say 25 without having to murder anyone i would feel stupid not to take it, obviously there are downsides, everyone ageing around you etc, but still, ....

I kind of had the same feelings. It would be enjoyable to live for awhile longer, yet the process is fairly gruesome. I don't think i could ever kill anyone. And ripping your soul? That just sounds disgusting and cruel. So, my answer is no.

It would seem amazing to be immortal at the idea. But when you see the consequences, you're not too crazy bout having horcruxes. First off I would never spare someone elses's life for mine. Meaning you have to commit an act of murder to split your soul, which is somemthing I would never do. So there's my first point, I'd be unable to create horcruxes due to the fact that I would not attempt muder.

Second is you have to be great and powerful wizard in order to do this. Now I'm not saying that I couldn't be. It's just, the chances of that are rather slim.

Last but not least, I don't think I would enjoy seeing loved ones die as I grew older and older, forever and ever. The idea to me just doesn't seem right. Death and Life have a balance, for it to be cheated destroys the balance.

No i wouldn't. Look wot happened to voldemort i mean ok he was crazy even before he split his soul but the idea of a horcrux is too dark, we are all supposed to die one day and i think being obssessed with immortality can drive u crazy and itz probably just best to accept the facts of life and death for that matter---like Harry did!

I'm gonna go the other way and say: possibly. blink.gif If I had to kill someone, it'd be a person who did bad things. I understand that death is inevitable, but I might make one for the sake of greater knowledge, and helping future witches/wizards.

It makes perfectly good sense to not want your soul scattered across Europe. That makes it much more practical to make one horcrux if you're going to make one. Or you could make two, but that'd be my limit.

As each and every piece of his home swirled around him and into the sky, his body was covered with cuts and gashes. As the last shard hit him and flew up, he collapsed, wondering how long it would be until he bled to death. Crying, he fell asleep; hoping that when he woke up, the house would be there...

No ... I would never make a horcrux. It's evil ... and who wants to live forever with a mutilated soul? Not for me ... I would never take another life.

Of course not, why would anyone want to kill someone simply for the sake of gaining "immortality."

Yes, if souls existed, and magic existed, Id make as many as voldemort.. i simply would have a pattern to how i hide them like he did.

No way. I don't think I'd be able to stomach it.

No...
I can't imagine that this would be the best or most efficient way of evading death. Also, assuming there is such a thing as a soul, I can't imagine that all parts of it are the same or govern the same things (or however you wish to describe this). It's not like halving a starfish and regenerating two functional starfish. My theory was that the loss of horcruxes was actually Voldy's downfall because his judgment seemed to get progressively worse as each horcrux was destroyed, at least in my reading. But, on an intellectual level, if I for some reason thought it was a good idea to do this, I would have put my bits of soul into things that were much harder to identify or trace back to me, that's for sure.

Hah I think that i am going to agree with everyone else.

No. I really don't think that I should go in to much detail of why..

Killing people...bad...

riping my soul into more than one peice....very bad

Man, this is mad...

I would not live with myself if I killed somebody else (gruesome thought).

Although this topic is not for complaining for the sake of the topic, it is to answer it. If your going to complain, you might is well clear off this topic now.

So, if I was evil (which I'm not), I'd want to pass the best with how many Horcruxes was possible to make. Since I am not evil, I don't know what my horcruxes would be.

Thank You,
Cajunfarmdog
