By Jove, I do believe you are right Josh. If you find the quote in OotP please post it. That would at least definitively rule out Slytherin.

I also feel, however, that DD - more than anyone else - has been given qualities of all the houses by the author. And that she did that deliberately. Within him is the uniting of all Hogwarts houses. Darn! I thought Josh might be onto something for a moment Laura.
I quite agree that Dumbledore, of all the characters, had traits from all the the houses at Hogwarts. And also I agree that Hermione was a stand in for the author to impart certain info to us  .
