Abstract

On Harry’s first visit to Flourish and Blotts, he found and avidly read excerpts from Professor Viridian’s seminal work on curses and hexes. Great essay! It was very much in the style of a serious person, but was still absolutely hilarious. I think my favorite part was this:

feel free to...remind them what happened to Sisyphus Selwyn from the Magical Law Enforcement squad who tried to tell me that my Waddiwasi spell should not be used in conjunction with watermelons.

Selwyn was probably right....any ideas as to what happened to her?

I never could find out. Every time I asked a member of Magical Law Enforcement, their eyes would glaze over and they'd give a shudder of horror. Then all of a sudden they would have some pressing appointment they just remembered. Staff from other departments however would just laugh and say, "Well I'd ask the people in that department if I were you."
